I don't think I've ever used the expression 'hoist by his own petard' in my life, but this textbook example might be a good place to start.

Why?

I get the feeling this Brazilian player was threatened or should I say persuaded by certain very powerful underworld groups to behave in a specific manner and although I have no proof of such a scenario it would not surprise me and unfortunately although you have to
admire the working class boy's determination to climb
their way up to the top from a poverty stricken South
American town it does sometimes seem to come at a price.... I wonder how many more players there are out there that will have similar charges eventually levelled at them?
