Silly season is about to kick off
Got the Euros and Ingerland losing on a penalty shoot out to look forward to
Hope we can sign Idah, the guy won us the League and Scottish Cup - 15 games, 9 goals, 2 assists.
If he's going to cost £6M, he's worth it.

you're talking 11 million to make bernarndo and idah permanent.
if thats the case we can forget any other "big" signings, the rest would be fillers.
i'd be more inclined to give palma another chance than kuhn, the latter is rotten.
Probably a bit quiet because it’s a bank holiday as well.
Suspect a few folk will be coming back to heavy workloads as a result for the rest of the week.

Agree with everything, except we also need a new keeper
Idah is the main one we need done, he's proven ideal for the game here. Just a pity we didn't have a buy clause.
Scales definitely isn't Celtic class, we need another Starfeld or similar to replace him.
We could be doing with spending at least £20M to freshen up the squad, we can afford it.
As long as we keep McCarthy and Mikey Johnstone
quiet here the night boys.

You know what they call a Shooshburger at Celtic Park?
A Double with cheese
A few things to remember
- McCarthy still on the books!
- Haksa, Bernabei, Tilio, Kwon, MJ, Lawal and another 9 out on loan
- I only mention Lawal cos he's been getting rave reviews at Fleetwood and 90 every week - first half of season at CB and CM thereafter - interesting, he's a unit and brings badly needed height.
- The £8m in for Abada covers most of Bernardo & Idah - we shouldn't be fobbed off
- Welsh is wasting his career
The £8m in for Abada covers most of Bernardo & Idah - we shouldn't be fobbed off
===========
fair point but we both know it never works that way for us, could argue combined with the money we will get for frimpong if he goes its more than covered.
but about 30 million in last summer and 15 out.
I would be keen to see what Lawal could offer in that midfield role.

Lawal has been getting rave reviews for his performances. It would be great to promote some youngsters into the first team squad. Maybe keep Vata and Kelly and get them in too. It was a shame losing Doak.

That's very interesting on Lawal. Wasn't aware how well he was doing down South. Sounds like exactly the unit we could do with at DM, in certain games anyway. Been saying it for ages, but Saturday's starting front 6 (our usual) is just too powder puff, even more so when our LB falls into that category also ... and the only height in that usual front 6 (MOR) is almost certainly offski.

FFS 🤣🤣🤣
BTW, just to follow up on our "LB problem". Watched Sat again on the Sportscene highlights and there was a Gers attack that summed up everything that's a problem with Greg Taylor ... every fecking game. The one where CCV eventually does really well to knock a cross flashed across the 6 yard box behind for a corner. Starts with them attacking down our left flank ... Taylor is trying his best to get back from the halfway line, but is absolutely treading water, and gets nowhere near stopping the initial ball in ... gets headed back out where it came from, where Taylor's been absolutely stationary in the meantime (getting his breath back), and as per usual he barely challenges for the subsequent header ... they regain possession, ball flashes in and CCV clears the very real danger. One example, but it just happens over and over again. He's a trier, granted, but has zero recovery pace, generally doesn't even bother going for high balls, and offers very little going forward. It's absolutely mental that he's still our main LB.
Taylor is indeed a trier. And he is very popular and influential around the dressing room. Which brings me to a fear that being Scottish, he is being groomed to eventually take over the captaincy because CCV aside there is no obvious candidate.
Now CCV is in pole but a) will he hang around or will we cash in b) is he the vocal influence needed or just lead by example? If we could persuade MOR to stay he could be but comes across the same quiet introverted type as CCV. That said there are many ways to do the job.
Another thought on Idah, him being Irish, DD will be desperate to make it happen.

there is so much to like about him
great attitude and runs his pan in every game but hes severely lacking on proper quality - both with the ball and from a defensive perspective
AJ was superb on Saturday, had a real solid game both defending and going forwards . We need similar at LB
also a left centre back ....Scales is just o.k ..had a great start to the season but has flagged a fair bit ...looks really jittery with the ball . If we could sort out our defence issues we would be a far better team for it
Don't wholly disagree but Scales' stats were impressive 1H certainly. He suffers from being not Starfelt who offered exactly what we need viz recovery speed when low block teams break and covering for a wandering LB. He has also suffered from the drop in mobility of our front 5 under Rodgers. Plenty times he breaks to nosebleed territory only to find nobody making an option for him.
He's signed for another 4 years - the Irish dividend but yeah we can do better.
