I raised this a few weeks back, £190 Million in total and £75 Million by end of June - It's a double cliche coming - 'Only at Leeds and You couldn't make it up'.
All depends in what we banked last summer and how much we get for the likes of Harrison, Roca, Aaronson and the other ones out on loan.
Summerville can go as far as I’m concerned. He’s been found out and needs moving on for his and our sake.
I’m sure the owners will have a plan even if it is selling some players before we can buy. We won’t be the only club in this position this summer.
Hopefully we can keep the players the manager wants to keep.
Sinisterra was sold already for this reason, wasn’t he? Rather than waiting till summer. Plus Adams sale as well which club were hoping to avoid initially. That takes a chunk out.
That’s for the 49ers to worry about though. It’s purely a cash flow issue, we are fine for FFP according to Kevin Maguire.
Stoopo - it probably is going to be managed sensibly and professionally by the 49ers but this whole loanees 'want aways' nonsense is just pure Leeds, no other club comes close as far as I'm aware - How the hell was this allowed, let alone contemplated, just seems pure madness to me.
FFP is always a red herring excuse owners hide behind.
As for player sales, that money went on Gruev, Kamara, Ampadu and Piroe, it’s gone.
Will captain contract come to the rescue?
How the hell was this allowed, let alone contemplated, just seems pure madness to me.
^^^
We were so c0cksure we were staying up. Club/Orta
probably figured these will never be enacted, we'll do
it to keep the agents and players happy.
Jonty do you think the club selling for less than £200m when it was valued at £400m factors in?
Won’t be getting any money for Roca… cos we didn’t get promoted his loan arrangement will just roll over for another year.
Think I heard that this will be an option for all the others too like Harrison, etc.
Don’t sound like we’ve got any money coming from the loanee pool .
I read this on YEP:
"Roca's Elland Road contract does not expire until the summer of 2026, although the loan extension means a decision on his future can be postponed for another 12 months.
Other loanees, such as Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober could be reasonably expected to return to Thorp Arch over the summer following the conclusion of their one-year loan deals with Union Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach, respectively. Neither player is understood to have had a similar clause to Roca allowing for an extension to their initial loan deal."
Not sure which situation Harrison and Rasmus
fall under? Hopefully all four can be sold. Saying
that, I liked Wober at LCB.
Summerville £30-35 million
Gnonto £20-25 million
Rutter & Meslier £25 - 30 million
Odds and sods £3 million
So debts for this year ending sorted plus a possible maximum spare £20 million to spend on new Championship players so now everyone can stop worrying... we'll be fine next season but we will certainly
need to get promoted otherwise Archie will definitely be
sold but I think the loss of Summerville Gnonto Rutter and Meslier is not the end of the world as I think we need more Championship savy players that don't do all those fancy unnecessary showboating flicks in dangerous areas... nice when it works but frustrating as feck when it invariably breaks down.
Why would Rutter leave though? Hes got better than last year and if we actually find him a place on wing and he learns to pass a bit and not pi55 about with the ball in
The middle he’ll be the reason we go up. Keep him.
Summerville is a gona. Gnonto hasn’t turned up
Most games anyway but lucky to get £20m for him.
Meslier not going anywhere and if he does you’ll be lucky to get lettuce and few scraps.
Interesting question:
With Summerville, Gnonto, Rutter etc on the way out of the door, who do people anticipate will be playing for us next season?
Salable Assets:
Summerville £25 - £30 million
Archie £20 - £25 million
Rutter £20 - 25 million
Gnonto £10 - £15 million
Meslier £10 - £15 million
James £10 - £15 million
Loan Clause Dependent:
Harrison £15 - £20 million

Llorente £5 - £10 million

49ers have a lot of work ahead sorting that out.
Would be tempted to see what Aaronson can do at this level. There is talent in there and let's be honest, a lot of us didn't rate James and probably wanted him gone, so perhaps Farke can get a tune out of him.
Summerville and Gnonto go, 25 and 20 respectively. Don't see Rutter or Gray going, both are young, settled and have plenty of football available here at a team that are going to be big favs to go up next season, 1 more season isn't going to hurt. As Batty said, plenty of work to do but we can build a good side around Ampadu, Kamara, Gruev, Gray, James and a few others, new faces needed obviously.

Agree 100%.
Build the side around Kamara and Gruev - is this a joke? Gruev doesn’t know that you can pass forward. Kamara has one decent game in 4. Both have provided sweet FA in terms goals or assists from midfield. Confused.
Gray has 50 games under his belt so definitely agree with that. Amps didn’t cover himself in glory when in midfield prior to going in defence either - mainly because he doesn’t have any creativity in middle or park with him. But yeah let’s build around Kamara and Gruev ffs

Gruev would make a good rugby player…can’t pass forward.
So as I see it, from Batty's list we have Darlow, Klaesson, Struijk, Firpo, Ampadu, Gruev, Kamara, Gyabi, Joseph, Bamford and Piroe.
Not sure how we build a team worthy of promotion from that.
Come to think of it, had we won yesterday, where do you start preparing the team for next year, pretty sure we would have been down to the same bare bones.
Darlow, Klaesson, Struijk, Firpo, Ampadu, Gruev, Kamara, Gyabi, Joseph, Bamford and Piroe.
^^^
Based on what I found, this is the list of players we
can probably guarantee will be with us next season.
Look at them though:
Darlow - Not very good
Klaesson - Bit of an unknown
Struijk - Solid for Championship
Firpo - Can't defend
Ampadu - Solid for Championship
Gruev - I understand A14s issue(s) with him
Kamara - Same as Gruev
Gyabi - Unknown
Joseph - Could be very good at this level
Bamford - Injury prone and 30+
Piroe - Not sure what to think about him
Like I said, 49ers have a lot to sort out.

And I swear, though I cannot be bothered to look for it, that earlier in the season, he was raving about how good a manager Farke was for his handling of the Cresswell situation.
Would like to see Gray and Ampadu in Midfield next season with a decent number 10 in front of him. Sheffield United are willing to sell Hamer apparently for around 15m. Theres others availabel too in this league who did well last season. Szmodics for instance.
We will likely lose Gnonto and Summerville. So id like to see Rutter and James on the wings with another signing there to complement.
Wouldnt surprise me to see Harry Gray fighting for a position as well. Talented winger by all accounts.
Cresswell, Gelhardt and Greenwood are probably going to leave as they haven't featured which is a shame.
If we got Hamer, Szmodics and a keeper like Palmer at West Brom, we would be in with a decent shout, no matter who leaves.
