Maid, it was talked about a lot around here when the season started as to how much crap would fly if we didn't go up, so now the hope is that the 49ers have a plan and we'll get by!..
But I have to say, I'm happier with the 49ers doing the work than the thought of Orta still being here, boy this place would have erupted!..
Gnonto to Everton, would they be able to afford him?..
Even if all the loanees carry on in a loan situation that at least means that ALL their wages are not Leeds responsibility as these loan clauses stipulated the clubs taking on the Leeds players not wanting to stick around have to pay 100% of the players wages and not 50% which is the usual loan agreement.
Also with the inevitable transfer income from Summerville and Gnonto and no doubt a few others, this will keep the club on the right side of the FFP regulations and The 49ers have by all accounts earmarked a significant sum of money for Farke to go again next season and strengthen the team with new players.
Also I imagine there will be 2 or 3 good quality loans coming in from the Premier league like we had with Rodon and hopefully Rodon will be our first deal announced so I personally am not worried about Leeds repeating the Ridsdale horrors and I actually think we will all enjoy a happy and successful promotion winning season next year.
'Even if all the loanees carry on in a loan situation that at least means that ALL their wages are not Leeds responsibility "
This is ludicrous way to look at it.
We might have paid 30m for a player and also summer might have been able to sell them for 20m.
A loss, but at least money coming in.
We loan them out for another season, now they;'re only worth 10 m.
But hey we saved on wages.
It's madness.
Meanwhile, we still owe 25m on the purchase of that player!
What are these accounts that say 49ers earmarked significant sum of money for Farke?
We have no money!

Every year that goes by reduces the loss on a player. That’s how they work it out for profit and loss on the accounts.
Of course it’s great if we sell a player at a huge profit - such as Kalvin or even Gnonto if he goes.
However, if we buy a player for £20m over a four year deal, the losses go down each year of his contract should we sell at a lower price tha we paid.
So it’s not all doom and gloom - yet.
I would wager its likely that this is the Independent drawing a conclusion from limited data. It seems Roca has a repeated loan clause, but other loanees don't. Not seen anything about if it applies for Harrison, but that lack of information in the public forum allows them to extrapolate for the purpose of speculation. They even say that the 8 players can definitely leave on loan again, when I believe (could be wrong) that we know this probably isn't the case with some of them.
It also says that they're working on a deal. Well what deal is that, exactly, if they can just swan up and take him on loan? Seems fishy, to me.

Goodness me what a load of negative doom and gloom merchants we have imagining the worse... Cheer up FFS you are doing my head in and tbh I think you subconsciously thrive on negativity and will attract likewise.
I am not saying the loan situation is ideal, of course it isn't but I answered Maid's concerns by addressing the fact that the wages which are absolutely a big deal as it's between 3 or 4 million quid per player per year so work that out and you get 9 players not costing Leeds around 30 odd million quid in wages because Orta negotiated 60 to 70k per week for the likes of Harrison, Wober etc.
Now certainly we need to get promoted next season and then the landscape changes to at least mean we can recoup possibly half of what Orta recklessly spent over 2 summers and a January transfer window.
Yes we will lose quite a bit of money probably close to 90 million but we just have to wince at that because it's done and Orta is getting some kind of retribution at least as Seville fans already want his blood... The man was very close to repeating Ridsdale's crazy reckless antics.
You can either dwell on this like a dog with a bone creating negative doom and gloom energy or look forward and see that it's being dealt with as best as it can be and Leeds United is now thank heavens in good sensible hands.
The sales of the loaned out players because we haven't got promotion have to wait till next season so the only silver lining is the £30 million saved in those wages... it's better than nowt isn't it?
I realise I'm one of a handful of optimistic souls on this board atm and refuse to engage in the negativity around the £190 million we owe and £73 million of that that has to be paid back in June leaving us with an outstanding debt of £117 million which if we are promoted will soon be taken care of in a couple more years I imagine but If we don't go up next season then obviously another big chunk will have to be paid off and the owners will no doubt have a sensible plan in place to keep the club ticking along healthily.
That's my rant over because I for one am looking forward to next season and think there is a lot to be positive about... but that's me I can't make others see it positively if they are hell bent on seeing things always in a dim light, forensicly nit-picking apart the slightest imperfections and creating drama where drama need not or does not exist....You do you and I'll do me and let's leave it at that

Genuine question.
Or did we decide to loan him because we wanted rid and had no bids - so get rid of his wages and use it for a different player (Rodon?).
With his contract running down, on paper, we will have lost nothing as far as P&S rules are concerned.

Surely many industries have assets that devalue over time? Are you saying an Airbus 330 is worth the same as when it was built back in 2000?
Of course not - the book value of the plane will reduce year on year and will be reflected in the accounts.
Of course it’s not “good” but it’s also not that weird really.

None of us know if offers same as none of us know that we had no bids, you cant have it both ways.
It's madness to say let players go for nothing as P&S says they'll be worth nothing in a couple of years.
We have done the worst business possible transfer-wise for some years now.
JKA a prime example.
Helder costa another
De Bock
Casilla
Sinisterra
Harrison
the list goes on.
I genuinely dont understand why fans try and defend it.

Completely and utterly missing the point 🤦🤦🤦
Airbus dont buy a plane and then not use it for 5 years 🤦🤦🤦
I fully understand how depreciation and amortisation works.
We have plenty of players who “Book value” is miles higher than in reality.
This is the losses am talking about
I don't understand what fans expect our new owners to do other than steady the ship due to the horrendous situation they inherited and okay Paraag was apparently sitting in the background making notes while Orta Radz and Kinnear negotiated some absolute insane loan clauses but what's done is done and we can definitely
sell players this summer like Summerville, Gnonto etc but unfortunately we are snookered from getting the 9 loan players off our books and recouping some funds and as for Koch like Stoopo says nobody will pay £5 million for a guy in his final year when the stupid loan clause Orta and the rest devised kicked in upon our relegation and so obviously a German club who he wanted to return to got him for no transfer outlay but of course had to pay 100% of his wages.
Had we not got relegated these stupid loan clauses wouldn't have been an issue and we may have got £5 million for Koch and the other loanees we would still have struggled to recoup half of what we crazily paid for them and that's that.
It's not flawed logic Jonty it's being realistic and dealing with the present situation whether you like it or not which none of us do but there is no value to wanting to permanently blame Paraag and find fault and be suspicious of everything he says.
I'm not defending past mistakes but I genuinely feel we are in responsible hands now and can look forward to a successful promotion campaign. Paraag's statement to me was a good indication that we will be serious contenders next season but none of us can be 100% sure but I personally think it's best to let go of what happened in the past and try and look forward positively.
which new owners 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I'm convinced Jonty and LIW are one of the same like a gas lighting tag team... Sorry fella's not playing your pedantic little games I've made my views perfectly clear and we just need to move on and let Farke shape a new team, whoever that may consist of we will see in due course but I fully expect by the new season starting we
will have a very good exciting squad of players ready to challenge for promotion. Peace and love amigos ✌️
We'll have an idea of what's going to happen when the new season starts, but I still love the way the 49ers are being blamed for contracts made before their time!..
And don't say they had a say in what was going on, they might have had a bit of a say but I don't think they had enough to make deals as far as contracts went!..
The Harrison one they paid to stop him going to Leicester, seems a strange thing to do if they could say no!..

JKA a prime example.
Helder costa another
De Bock
Casilla
Sinisterra
Harrison
the list goes on.
I genuinely dont understand why fans try and defend it.
The clowns overseeing this, Kinnear and 49ers are still in place.

In no other industry, would losing money on assets been seen has good.
Its weird.
All the club is doing is delaying the losses, and having a bigger loss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely many industries have assets that devalue over time? Are you saying an Airbus 330 is worth the same as when it was built back in 2000?
Of course not - the book value of the plane will reduce year on year and will be reflected in the accounts.
Of course it’s not “good” but it’s also not that weird really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Completely and utterly missing the point 🤦🤦🤦
