Scholes.> Lampard ......................> Gerrard
Both Scholes and Lampard were hugely influential in multiple title winning sides.
Gerrard slipped up when it mattered most. You just can't spin these facts any other way.
Also apparently there’s a picture of him at the Nou camp further enhancing his reputation since retirement

It's because Gerrard>>Lampard>>>>> Scholes.
If this was not the case, Liverpool fans would hide under their rock. Same reason you don't see United fans making this article, hiding under their rock. Deep down they know.
Controversial but I think Gerrard was better and had somehow we signed him we’d have a couple more CLs.
However Scholes was world class and better than any Liverpool fan I’ve seen on this site has ever given him credit for.

No it was the best in his career.

I've no problem admitting Scholes was world class, but if United fans want to pretend he was better than Gerrard then two can play that game.

Yep, although I always thought Gerrard and Rooney had a great understanding and I personally wanted Gerrard in a free role with Hargreaves’s and Scholes/Carrick behind.

No need. Scholes would have removed himself prematurely, leaving you with no decision to make.
So Gerrard at 10 basically ^

You don't win games by turning them though. You win games by scoring legendary goals and winning legendary penalties, which Hamann didn't do.
In any case, Gerrard didn't win the CL single handedly. He had both hands when he did it.

Think if you had to pick an all rounder better in more areas, you’d pick Gerrard. He’s probably more useful to the majority of teams. . Scholes is more specialist and excelled at that.
Balon D'Or nominations:
Scholes 0- Gerrard 6
Team of the year appearances:
Scholes 2-Gerrard 8(record)
Fifa World XI:
Scholes 0-Gerrard 3
England player of the year:
Scholes 0- Gerrard 2
UEFA Team of the year:
Scholes 0- Gerrard 3
Why have you not done lampards nominations? be good to gauge
Gerrard should really be compared more to Rooney than Scholes. In that debate he falls short as well. No shame in that though.
OP, Rooney has an opinion just like the rest of us.
Personally, I think the English mentality leads people to Gerrard more than Scholes.
I also think their roles in their respective teams showed that Scholes was the better footballer… even if Gerrard had a more varied set of attributes.

Look at all this hullabaloo, it's more complex than the theory of relativity. If Scholes was better than Gerrard you'd just come out and say it, but you can't because he wasn't. Thanks for proving the OP right Winnie.

Some of us have enough intelligence to understand that the comparison is not that straightforward.
It’s made harder, of course, because good managers understood that Gerrard was not the right player to play in a midfield two and that he was more value player off of the front man or on the right.
That speaks volumes for the two players, of course.
