Last season was much more enjoyable than the relegation season, getting battered week in, week out was demoralizing. I also liked no VAR, even though I think VAR when they finally utilize it properly will be a good thing. I’m with you on the optimism, not too worried about losing players. Looking forward to the Euros, hopefully Scotland can finally get out of the group stage, and I’m not getting over excited about England’s chances…once that is over it won’t be long until the season starts again.
Still on holiday in Japan, thanks to those who tried to help me watch the game.
I was gutted I wasn’t there and gutted when we lost. Monday my missus and friends gave me a wide berth as I sulked like a schoolboy.
Since then every time I see a social media post from tinpot clubs and individuals laughing at us it helps the healing process for me. Oh how we matter to the footballing world. If the lows didn’t feel as bad then the highs wouldn’t feel so special, it’s the Leeds way.
The club will have to make decisions us fans don’t like but make them they will. For my sins I like Paraag and I believe he understands the club.
While we still have issues to deal with I agree we are in a better position already than last year. We will all have to accept we need to live within the ffp rules but so does every club. To attract investment from red bull I think shows we are in a different class to most clubs and definitely all the championship. Fears of name changes is just Twitter nonsense, we will always be Leeds United.
After losing I am sort of glad I am halfway around the world but when I return to the local boozer my shirt will be on ready to take the p@@s out of the local tigger fans and the plastic big 6 tv supporting numpties and looking forward to a productive summer and a fresh season where we will tear it up……..
Oh yes and this time covid and badly planned holidays will not get in the way when the promotion party happens at ER……..
Feeling optimistic despite last week. If the club
announce that our away kit is going to be all yellow,
count me as thinking we're going up as Champions.
Was gutted on the day but having slept on it I'm not half as disappointed as previous times we have failed in the play offs. In fact think I was more gutted when we lost to Derby. 45 years old so seen many ups and downs with Leeds! Optimistic about next season now. Not sure if we were ready for the Prem.

Enjoying Japan? We found it awesome last month when we toured there. Good news for me is I took my firestick which was loaded and able to watch sport. It always goes on holiday with me if Leeds are playing.
Personally I quite like the Championship. For me it’s more like I want football to be - fewer drama queens. Fewer plastic fans. No VAR (yet) and we get to see the team win games.
However, as someone who always likes to win I was obviously disappointed, gutted in fact, that we lost. Plus I truly understand that the club need PL football and the income that comes with it.
This next season will be ours.
OP sums it up incredibly well.
The stress of being a football fan is real; being trying to stay in a league, get out of one, or the stress of being stuck in no man's land.
The one thing I always say is that if we didn't care so deeply, then there would be no point in being a fan. Football is all about the emotions, the highs and the lows.
Like most of you, I am looking forward to next season and feel that it should be a good one. The set up of the club seems as good as I can ever remember it being, making all the right noises and no doubt with contingency plans very much in place long before the latest Wembley failure.
As has been stated before, you don't choose Leeds, Leeds chooses you, and I for one am grateful to have been chosen given that most of my family are Spurs fans - wouldn't swap for the world.

Loving Japan Stoopo, agree with you it is awesome . Even though I am on holiday with a Saints fan…..
Found a weird little Irish bar in Tokyo and the local guy behind the bar was a Leeds fan…..
5 stars from me, not down, was expecting it.
Nothing pre determined for next season need to see what team we have left and how we handle the debt and returning loanees.
Last season started inauspiciously to say the least, but providing we meet our end of June Commitments, feels like a positive reset. We must get out of the blocks fast.
Pretty predictable to be honest but actually enjoyed the season as a whole...
Not a patch on the Bielsa championship years.. in terms of enjoyment for me.
Whilst I was disappointed, pretty good at shaking sporting carve ups off these days.. you get used to em, really looking forward to the summer sport.. Cricket/Boxing and obvs the Euros... its coming home

The RB news got a lot of attention yesterday and is a statement move by the club. Looking forward to transfers now, just hopenwe move on those that don't want to be here or we dont want quickly, and replace them with sufficient quality. Not a Farke fan, but in a league as weak as this with the resources he has, he should get us top 2 easily.
I feel pretty decent.
We hit the 90 point mark and would have gone up with that practically any other season.
I think we will be okay on the transfer front for a couple of reasons.
1) Farke did really well in the market last year and the players we brought in were instrumental in our 90 point haul.
2) Gnonto proved last year that we have the ability to not be bullied in the market so anyone leaving will hopefully go for a decent amount which can be used to bring in replacements.
I have some concerns about the depth of the squad, particularly in the striking department, however I think that will be addressed.
Valencia friendly announced - didn't Orta used to work for them?
..no Vallodolid.
Fixture 3rd August, Elland Rd 3pm
We're off to sunny Val .... leeds.
Felt very early on that Leicester would go up as champions and then it would be a dog fight between ourselves, Ipswich and Southampton.
That I didn't think we had enough to go up in the autos and of the other two the team feared meeting in the final was Southampton because I felt we had more than enough to beat Ipswich.
All my worst dreams came true especially as I live closest to Southampton and I have friends whose sons will enjoy no end taking the mickey even though their interest in Southampton goes no further than wearing the shirt and they are much more into celebrity footballers like Bellingham and Mbappe.
In the cold light of day, I see no way we would hold on to the likes of Summerville and Gnonto (though I'd love to be pleasantly surprised) next season regardless of what league we are in. See a season of struggle for the promoted sides and yes it would be nice to be eating at the big boys table, I don't want to return to hammerings at Wolves and Palace.
I saw a team on FB something like this as our core Meslier, Gray, Ampadu, Struijk, Firpo, Kamara, Gruev, Piroe, Rutter, Joseph/Bamford, James. I know I've been highly critical of a few but add a few signings and loanees to that and it looks OK to me.
I'm feeling a very strong urge to predict we will get over the 100 point mark next season.... I know I know it's dangerous territory to even think such fanciful thoughts regarding our beloved club but I can't help but feel that old saying of no pain no gain applies ever so much to Leeds United and would certainly make perfect sense after the painful defeat on Sunday that our fortunes are about to lift off like never before and as hard as that is to get accustomed to and not be slightly wary of a sting in the tail I look at how Man City rose from near obscurity to soon upsetting the status quo of the so called big 4 with the right associations at the right time and can't help but feel Leeds United is about to take a similar pathway starting next season with a convincing and dominant promotion campaign. MOT
When we sign some players that are not scared to actually shoot the ball in the general direction of the goal I'll be happy. ☺
Been heavily linked to Chelsea centre back Alfie Gilchrist (20) on a season long loan. Ben Jacobs reporting it, he's pretty clued up with the signings, especially in England.
With 2 years on his contract where exactly are you offloading Bamford to? Would cost approx £3.5 to £4.0m in wages to release him...........
.....and to answer your initial question I feel absolutely fed up and lacking motivation since Sunday. All that long hard season amounted to nothing. Another lame wembley performance backed up by lies from Paraag this week.

Is part of that because it's summer and like me your mood is always a little bit flatter when there's no weekly Leeds to look forward to, would you have felt a little bit like this anyway regardless of the outcome. Has losing just made it feel that much worse so you notice it more?
