Yes it's hard to know how serious these rumours are because Leeds tends to be linked with the world and his wife but on paper they could both certainly be excellent for the Championship but I think we'd all like Rodon to be with us next season and with Struiyk and possibly
Cresswell involved a new left back, right back and CB are
definitely needed to be strong defencively so I think
when the transfer window officially opens, mid June, it
would make a change if all our dealings were sorted
quickly instead of a few days before the new season starts.

Doesn't the Euros make transfer dealings unlikely until mid-July. I know some teams have made some minor forays into the transfer market and the fact the Welsh lads and others will not be there means that they can be looked at so the likes of Rodon, Roberts could be on the move shortly.
But I would expect a sluggish market.

Might help if the club start with a retained list

17 players out of contract

We will also see if this Red Bull association is enough to keep Archie at the club for one more season at least as there are many rumours out there, and hopefully they're just that, saying he's going to join a Champions league team for mega millions which could be anything from £50 million plus add ons but surely he'd benefit from staying with us and getting regular game time but I suppose if suitors think he's another Jude Bellingham in the making they will try their best to tempt him and Leeds with a big offer.

I think it's a mess Kebab, too many contracts allowed to just run down to just virtually nothing.

Look at the goalkeeper situation

Meslier 2 years
Darlow 2 years
Klaesson 1 year
Van den Heuval out of contract
Ombang 2 years
Christy out of contract

I don't think players should be tied to long contract but this gives next to no security. It's why we have no senior full-backs at the club beyond Firpo and why the centre sitution is a mess. It is also why we have next to no strikers.

We practically do not have an U21 side next season.

9 contacted players and one of them is Amari Miller who is the new Ouasim Bouy

Are we so hamstrung by FFP that we can't go out there and actually buy some players? I am getting tired of hearing how much we will sell players for, but here we are, p1ssing around with free transfers and untried talent. We are the biggest club in this league. Let's stop dicking around and get Rodon, Latte Lath, Szmodics and Hamer . That's the way to do business, Angus.

I wonder sometimes whether the issue is the coaching setup at the club. Not that the gulf between what we have is too big but that the coaches cannot help the kids fill that gap.
Look at Charlie Allen, looked to be the next big thing out of Ireland, three years later hasn't looked like starting for us.

Wouldn't mind seeing 2 or 3 of the U18 final team that lost to Man City promoted to the first team... Crew looks certainly capable of at least getting some sub appearances and the young Scottish left winger Mcdonald could be another one worth promoting to the first team squad and both would fill the likely departures of Shackleton and Poveda.

Crew needs another year at least, I think, and McDonald is not there yet.

Gilchrist would be alright as an option, but not sure how I'd feel about him replacing Rodon. Think Cresswell will leave this summer, so we will probably need two RCBs.

I'd be happy enough with Ben Johnson.

To be fair not that many youth players make it at any club. I don't feel we are any better or worse than a lot of clubs around us. We cant expect every youth player to make it. A lot do end up at other clubs and have successful careers.

We must have the only fan base in the world which moans about the quality of youth players in the same year one of our youth players wins young player of the year...

Sky reporting Dortmund want Gruev and Leeds have turned down offers from Premier league sides. Leeds wanting 15 mil +

In other news, Jonty has just spat his drink out

Us being linked to other players, it happens every year, but should we not worry more about who's looking at ours?..

People have a few times mentioned Gray, but the only way he'd go is if the club except what would have to be one hell of an offer!..

And than he wouldn't be happy!..

And I think its time Joseph got his chance, and I mean from the first game on!..

Wow if Dortmand want Gruev and we can get as near to our asking price of £15 million then I think as long as we can obviously find a midfield replacement which you'd imagine we will then that's an offer we can't refuse and also despite his half decent contribution last season aftet a slow start his solitary goal in the play off semi will live long and be fondly remembered but without totally agreeing with Jonty who was consistent in his lukewarm rating of Gruev I have to admit he is not really
the goal scoring box to box midfielder we need to help us get out of this league..wish him the very best at Dortmond if this deal happens and will definitely keep an eye on his progress.

Werder Bremen to Dortmund pretty much a sideways move, two perennial midtable clubs.

Just the kind of move that Jonty would expect Gruev to make.

I know this isn't the case by the way but they did finish 5th this season.

It could be argued that we'd feel good finishing 5th any season in the Premiership!..

Dortmund should have won the Bundesliga in 2023, they lost on the final day to give Munchen the title?

posted on 4/6/24

Dortmund must be absolutely kicking themselves coming 2nd to Bayern who won 11/12 in a row and the 1 time they dont, its Leverkusen who rock up and take it. Atleast it wasn't Shalke I suppose.

15m for Gruev? To Champions League finalists??

😂

Dortmund, the twin city of Leeds!.

Apparently there's a German bloke with a barrel that lives in Leeds!.

Do people here not rate Gruev? Crikey.

Lubo - i like his attitude but doesnt make or score goals (norwich accepted) and due to only having a left foot can only play in one direction, would think he would get blown away in the PL, if we can get £10m+ i would sell.
