Out of his depth from day one at United. Actually started feeling sorry for him at the end.

United need a juggernaut of a manager.

I knew before he even took over that he simply wasn't good enough. Liverpool will have the same with this Arne Slot... Dutch managers and that Dutch league are just damaged goods.

Hopefully we get Tuchel, Poch, Zidane or De Zerbi.

The longer they wait, the more it looks like it's Southgate.

I would take him. Did very well at Middlesbrough until they didn't back him.

Also underrated as England boss. Would ETH have taken England as far as Southgate has?

No chance.

Ten hag has won two trophies with a squad that is probably about 6th best in those competitions.

Southgate has failed to win the euros with the 2nd best squad and the world cup with the 3rd best squad.

It all depends what vegetable the Sun make Southgate's head look like after the Euros for me.

Dutch league was pretty much best in the world in the 70s but PL money damaged many leagues. The money is obscene. Many talented players leave too early and players now also choose money over good career choices.

And you had Moyes, Mourinho, Solksjear as non Dutch coaches and they all struggled as well. LVG and ETH still won you a bunch of trophies.

Ten Hag's trophies shouldn't be taken that seriously though.

League Cup win was the easiest ever route to a trophy. Literally played tiny teams at home and then trophy virgins in the final.

FA Cup win was against a City team who were dead on their feet, after playing about 20000 games in the last 12 months, and even then we just parked the bus and countered.

We used to do the exact same under Ole ffs.

Ten Hag out.

Moyes didn't get enough time

Mourinho was a dinosaur

Ole should've got more time and overachieved with us. I don't think he was good enough though, but if he got the Jan window and the rest of that season who knows.

Ajax's brightest stars went to Italy and Spain, De Ligt & De Jong. Onana went to Italy, Mazraoui went to Germany, Tagliafico to France. De Beek to Utd.

Its not just a feeder league to the PL, it's a feeder league to all the top leagues in Europe.

That's on them !

It's not the manager. Manchester utd is a spent force going the way of other big teams of the past like Blackburn and Derby.
Be fighting it out in the lower leagues in a couple of years.

Has a manager ever survived new owners? If Ineos wanted to impose their stamp on things they should have acted decisively. This is just dither.

Ornstwin says he has given up trying to predict what will happen.

2 things.

1 if he doesn't know, nobody outside the club does.

2 Nice to see him.admitting they predict a lot of whag they put out, rather than get told / briefed.

I think Southgate could be available 2 weeks today if England fail to get out of their group and that's definitely possible but either way if ETH is going to be replaced then surely you want an upgrade and I think 99% of football supporters would say Southgate nice guy he may be, he is nowhere near that benchmark and I'm amazed he's even in the conversation to potentially succeed ETH....Michael Carrick would do a far better job than GS and he's not even listed as a possible candidate.

Had you beaten us in the final, as I and many others were expecting to you to, he'd already be gone.

The look on Jim's face at the end of the game said it all. He would be a terrible poker player because it was so
obvious what he was thinking......'oh dear what do I do now'.

Sacking a manager who finishes 8th and doesn't qualify for European football at all is easy. Sacking one who has just beaten the great Pep Guardiola in a final and thus salvaging something from a dismal season is much tougher.

I think they will carry on with him now but they won't commit to a new contract for him unless we have an amazing season. That in itself is going to cause even more uncertainty too. 😂
