Neves does look top quality, Bruno will be tapping him up all summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly the worst type of player to add.
I don't know any of the players mentioned so it's all the same to me who we bid for.
I do think we should keep AWB for the times we come against a fast, dangerous winger. It's his forte.
Keep McT excellent squad player.
Keep Rashford until Christmas, unless he can sort his head out and play with a smile on his face, in which case keep him long term.
Sign Amrabat.
Antony, no idea.
Let's look at the youth,
one thing I think we can all agree on is that Erik is good at promoting, and at the right time. He gives plenty of them minutes to see how they react.
Onana I think will come good, he gradually improved all season, I think it was nerves.
Mount, unlike VC I quite rate him when fit. But aye, there's the rub.
For myself I believe we need a top sweeper, to use an old fashioned word.
A top CB.
A striker, preferably late 20s to rotate with Rasmus, pair with him against weaker teams, cover for injury.
And finally an opinion very few agree with, try playing without Bruno, if we look good then sell him, otherwise bring him back into the team
I know all the stats for him, but possibly the stats for the others would go up without him.
Hard to disagree with much of that, 52.
Though I can't agree on the Bruno thing. Not this summer. I think we need to be planning for life without Bruno over the course of next season but with how much coming and going there is going to be this summer, I don't think you rock that boat.
You also have to be careful because footballers are people and people have feelings, ambitions etc. I don't imagine Bruno will just whistle along and understand that he's not laying football because we want to see how er go. It's not about whether he's justified or kot in feeling like that either because as you say, it could make total sense.
But if you've ever managed teams of people, you'll know you can't just mess about with them. Sing because they are a paid employee also doesn't mean it's OK to treat them like property. You can do that but you'll likely find people don't want to work for you, disrupt other people, disrupt the working environment etc.
Whether it's a highly paid footballer or a mum of 3 working in a call centre, people pretty much universally expect to be treated like an adult and with respect. I often see fans talk about how they'd deal with a situation etc and just can thekp but laugh. They've clearly never successfully ran teams of people and if they've been a part of that setup, any success will have been in spite of them, not because of them.
Footballers often get talked about as though they are a packet of sweets. "Sell Maguire". Yeah, good luck with that if Maguire doesn't want to get sold and his kids are settled at school etc.
We so often see players being moved around like pieces on a tabletop game and I'm sure clubs would love it to be that easy.
No need some pace at the back. Currently very pedestrian at best, hampering any attempted high line

You are right, I was wrong.
One possible solution, as Bruno rarely gets injured, and plays nearly every game, take him to one side and say you want him fit and fresh for the important part of the season, so to have two or three weeks sunshine over Christmas. It has the benefit of being a good idea for him, and let's us see other possibilities.
If we could kill games off early on it'd help us to bring players off around the hour mark. How often do you see us going right to the last minute in games either hanging on or trying to salvage something? Too often!

Can't have been more than 2 or 3 times in all comps where we had the game won by the hour mark.
Ironically in one of those that we did (Coventry) we still nearly ballsed it up. 😂
Palhinha is a very good player and if we were being ran properly we’d have signed him 2 summers ago instead of Casemiro for less than have the price and wages.
However at almost 29 and Fulham looking for big money I’d rather see us focus on someone younger.

Given our relationship with Sporting it's actually incredible we didn't seem to be in for him at the time. He was hardly an unknown quantity as he was getting rave
reviews.
Story of the Glazer / Woodward / Arnold era though. They wouldn't see value if it slapped them in the chops.

Yeah....I think I made a comment or two about him when he was at Sporting too. He was one their youngest ever captains so you knew he had something.
Huge own goal from the club but I tend to agree that he time has passed now. Signing a 29 year old for 50/60m isn't the way we should be going anymore.
