Eh, it was 2-1, Brazil scraping it courtesy of a 73rd min OG … I was there. Our usual easy tournament opener … Brazil in the opening ceremony game at a baking hot Stade de France. Lucked out again this time with hosts Germany in the opening ceremony game.

Dave, my best mates in the work are English and i goto Man Utd games with one and a few spurs games with the other one, great fellahs, I watch the EPL all the times so as a Scotland fan I have the auld enemy thing but as a person I want them to do well, but maybe not win it?

I don't think we look at well balanced as in 2021, added to the fact we played a lot of games at Wembley I'd say we're unlikely to win the tournament.

We lack experience in midfield, I think we'll miss Maguires experience at the back, we don't really have a LB (Shaw can't be fit) and Southgate has struggled to get Foden, Bellingham, Kane and Saka really playing together.

I fancy England to finally do it. Good luck to both the home nations

All the best sides at this tournament have flaws, the France defence is no better than ours, Deschamps recalled Kante to the national team to try plug the gaps. Mbappe doesn’t press making France susceptible on the left hand side, but putting him in the middle diminishes his powers.

Portugal - have 2 OAPs starting and Pepe hasn’t kicked a ball since April. They also have Roberto Martinez as manager, who achieved 1 World Cup semi with Belgiums golden team.

Spain have Morata up front

Italy have Scamacca up front

Germany have Fulkrug up front

There are no perfect sides at this euros. England do have short comings, but they are no worse than the other top nations at this comp.

I lived in Scotland for 2 years.

Not long after i moved there i went to the pub to watch Howard Wilkinson's England vs France, friendly in the days of Anelka & ZZ.

To my surprise the pub was packed and it soon became clear it was nearly all Scots. When France scored the opener, the place erupted!

Ever since, my view has always been feck'em!
