It's been an enjoyable MD1.. Some good games, good goals and the atmosphere has seemed friendly and fun, for the most part.

I've really enjoyed it so far.

IMO it's been proper football and not teams trying to be Pep-lite. That's not a criticism of Pep but football isn't as much fun I don't think when everyone tries to play like he does.

Think the first game today could be an eliminator - if there is a loser and the team that beat them loses in the Spain-Italy game or that is a draw then the loser in the 2pm is out? Because H2H is the decider if 2 teams are level?

Just seen Ant Taylor has the France-Netherlands game!!

Don't the four best 3rd placed teams go through too? I am not sure any team can be knocked out until MD3, but who knows!

Cos it is H2H they can I think.

So if Albania beat Croatia and Italy draw with Spain then the best Croatia can do is match Albania - and finish 4th on H2H. If Italy beat Spain and Croatia lose the best Croatia can do is finish level with Spain or Albania and they lost both H2H.

Scotland can't go out today, as even if Hungary win and Scotland lose they meet on the last game so Scotland beat Hungary and finish 3rd on H2H.

There's only been on game with officials controversy and of course it was when the English team were officiating.

I've been really impressed with the officials so far. They've been outstanding.

Barely any stops for VAR, showing how it can be done properly.
