Feck aff, mate. Pen all day, every day for the big teams, or even Eng. Laughable it wasn’t given, but no surprise.
I wasn't convinced it was a penalty, it seemed that Armstrong blew the chance and was trying to engineer a foul. However, I do see the point of view that the defender was clumsy and would understand if it was given.
Surprised it didn't even seem to be checked by VAR.

But also, Armstrong was massively looking for it when he could have just got a faaacking shot off

Looking for it or not, it was a pen all day long. Mbappe, Kane, Ronaldo, Morata, any German cant that’s given every single time, no arguments. We were pash overall and deserved fook all, but that decision is an absolute shocker.

Nah. He jumped in front of the defender to ensure there was contact. He almost jumped backwards. Defender is running and can't suddenly stop dead because an opposition player has jumped in front of him. Armstrong should have looked to get the shot off and for what he deserved.

For me it was 'more a pen than not', but Armstrong seem more interested in trying to get the pen rather than score. I don't know if he was a touch offside also, but it shouldn't overshadow what was a negative disappointing display from Scot who didn't create much at all.
Hungary were disappointing also. Maybe the occasion got to both teams, but it was like lets just play for a draw until the last 15-20 mins and then go for it.
Shankland showed great energy when he came on and probably deserved more time in all the games. But compared to other teams, Sco looked so negative and lacking ideas. I never liked the approach of let's go for 4 points - settling for a draw against Swi, when they copuld have been more positive towards the end, and having so much of the ball against Hungary and not doing much with it.
Clarke will deflect to the pen decision, but ultimately Sco didn't go for it enough in the last 2 games and whilst the fans will be missed, the team won't in terms of football it produced.

I watched the video back in the BBC website about 10 times. The movement that Armstrong makes isn't natural. He deliberately jumps in front of the defender to ensure that there is contact. As I said, he almost stops/goes backwards. He had the chance to score and make history for his country and opted to try and buy a penalty instead. I've no sympathy for him really.

I wasn't convinced it was a penalty, it seemed that Armstrong blew the chance and was trying to engineer a foul. However, I do see the point of view that the defender was clumsy and would understand if it was given.
Surprised it didn't even seem to be checked by VAR.

It was a pen
But also, Armstrong was massively looking for it when he could have just got a faaacking shot off
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking for it or not, it was a pen all day long.

Fwck off. Not even half decent wummery there
“jumped in front of the defender”. Sakes man

Ate ok.
