37 being the age of the Slovakia right back who pocketted Foden.

He reminds me of prime Mane.

I read he wants to go to Barca but no chance they can afford him and his wages.

Spain look by far and away the best side in the Euros. Think they play Germany next so the winner of that might win the whole thing imo.

Pockets weren’t deep enough, luckily.

Ahem, not if Netherlands, Austria, etc have anything to say about it.

I reckon we could sign this Williams.

Sell Greenwood and Sancho, then use the 80-100m to sign him.

Not sure we'd get 80-100 mil for they two, be great if we did but feel 40-60 absolute tops imo

posted on 30/6/24

stick them under southgate then we'll talk

Unfortunately, I don't think Sancho will be going anywhere until his contract expires, we really have screwed ourselves with the value of some of these contracts. He'll be lucky to get half of his United salary anywhere else, so he'll stink the place out or go back out on loan.

He has a £49m release clause, there will probably be 5-10 clubs happy to trigger it after the Euros. Arsenal are interested in him but supposedly he has crazy wage demands of over £300k/week which would make him our highest earner

posted on 30/6/24

Wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed at Athletic Club for at least another season before heading to Barça or PSG.

He’s already paid very well, has huge wage demands apparently, and his release clause has to be paid in full up front to be triggered, which makes it difficult for a lot of clubs despite appearing to be a bargain.

I think he will too. The Williams brothers have a really tight bond. Sid Lowe's done a few really good features on them in The Guardian.

Here's one of them incase anyone's interested:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/oct/06/inaki-williams-my-parents-crossed-the-desert-barefoot-to-get-to-spain

Iñaki's been like a second father to Nico, who in turn worships his big brother. It seems Nico's keen on testing himself at an elite club, but won't leave without his brother's blessing.

Athletic Club and Nico signed a new 2-year deal mid-season, with an agreement to keep the release clause down to an affordable level, and Iñaki's thought to have been a key influence in getting it done.

I suspect they might have agreed he'd stay at least until they got a taste of playing in Europe together, but it's also true that Athletic have since won the Spanish Cup - their first major title in 40 years - so it's unlikely Nico will be able to hit a higher note than that at the club.

Just one more year and then Athletic cash in, I reckon.

Doku is City's left sided player, not Foden. Only Robb and Southgate don't realise that.

What Foden does for City is completely different to what he does for England, and that's mostly on Southgate. If Foden played for Utd, we wouldn't stick him out wide left...................well actually, we probably would, or put him at left back...............
Nico Williams would cost us a fortune, would he really want to come to us? And could he play across the front 3, because it's prob a more out and out forward we need to support Hojlund, or a Bowen type player who is versatile in attack

A left wing threat in the way that poor Phil Foden can only dream of.

That statement says otherwise

🙄

I was talking about how he’s being played (out of position) for England in comparison to what Spain have playing there

Apparently we can afford Neco Williams. Would that be an acceptable alternative?
