I doubt it, with Kane is must be a fitness issue as he looks slow and just not up to speed. However if it’s not fitness related then I agree

Still one of the best in the world but looks ether knackered/injured or both.
He will imho still be an integral part of the 2026 world cup team.

Facking hope so.

Dont think hes really ever been one of our best players at all, always felt hes hindered the team in some way and even cost us a few times being selfish. What was his best tourn for us? 2018 wc? felt his hold up play was atleast decent then won a lot of free kicks etc. scored 2 vs tunisia, 2 pens and a goal vs panama didnt play vs belgium first time. scored a pen vs colombia 1-1 won on pens. Ultimately we lost to croatia and belgium twice that tourn..

This tourn has been by far his worst though doesnt even look fit and should be telling Gareth not to pick him if he cared one bit about the team overall and not himself.

I like Kane a lot he’s been absolutely shocking this tournament. He shouldn’t be starting the semi final really but we all know he will.

Yesterday for example, Saka put a lot of good crosses in and he’s nowhere near any of them. He’s never holding the ball up, so what is he actually doing?

he should tour with one direction to extend his career a little bit

Foden and Bellingham have been equally poor as well but England's top goal scorer and captain, will always get more flack because English supporters have never really taken to him because he used to play for the greatest team in the world. Fact.

Kane's been poor and probably should be dropped. The truth is a lot of big players fail to turn up for international tournaments. Mbappe has been crap, Ronaldo has been crap, Salah is usually crap at the AFCON.

It's up to Southgate though to take him off and Southgate doesn't really have the balls to do that. Only took him yesterday as a result of Kane taking a knock.

The whole not winning anything doesn't help fans look favourably on him either. Because a lot of fans are dense they can't make the distinction between it being a team game and one in which an individual is supposed to win something on their own.

Kane has been absolute mince, I’m guessing he’s carrying an injury or his legs have gone.

His movement is awful and he doesn’t seem to be able to keep up with play.

Foden too has been mince, Bellingham though has been better.

The situation reminds me a little of Raúl for Spain...main man for years, chief goal-getter, but he's aged and slowed down and Spain had reached a point where they just couldn't play progressively with him in the team.

In dropping him, Aragonés caused a national debate (and outrage from the pro-Madrid media), but it enabled Spain from that moment on to play much more fluidly, and they never looked back.

The strange thing is, nothing about his game has changed... He was never fast or someone that pressed from the front or played off the last defender..

He's just been hampered by a poor formation and overall poor form throughout the squad (including his own poor form, of course).

Kane's been subbed in 3 of the last 4 games so you're wrong and not for the first time.

On a seperate note I have accepted the fact the teams we have played in every game so far have parked the bus and Southgate has been proven right in his approach.

Feel like the Dutch will break the mould a little and be a little more attacking which should give us more looks at goal in the semi final.

It may be a dull watch but we have an excellent chance to get to the final. 🤞🏻

Yeah the fact that he's not declined as a player makes me hesitant to say we should be moving on from him. this team is just so bad at creating chances.

It is annoying that he never seems to be fully fit come the summer though, I feel like this back thing is bothering him more than it's being made out.

Never the fastest, but fast enough to get him into great positions by playing cleverly and effectively off the shoulder of defenders, but whether it's his legs or other issues, it isn't something he appears to have any more.

Although pursuant to my comment above, Aragonés (who by the time he was appointed Spain boss had managed over 1,000 games) knew what he wanted to do when he dropped him. Southgate doesn't appear to have a clear idea of how to pick or set up a team to play on the front foot.

That Spain side had 100 times the technical ability of this England plus xavi and iniesta who were vastly superior to the likes of rice and mainoo

That has some truth to it, Kane should know he isnt playing well isnt contributing much and should do whats best for the team even against southgates wishes. issue is kane is too selfish to do it southgates too spineless so he will start vs the NL.

hes been bad but hes not the only one tbf to him, fodens and bellinghams had some real stinkers too, trippiers not worked out well at all.

That isn't entirely true. Slovakia and Slovenia more so, but Switzerland, Denmark and Serbia all had plenty of the ball. Similarly to England, they all preferred to take a cautious approach, that much is true, but 'parking the bus' is something pretty different.

He took him off in one game in the 90 mins you mean? Wow, you're right, Southgate is so flexible when it comes to taking Kane off despite him being poor.

Should have taken Foden off yesterday too but again lacked the balls to do it. The disrespect shown to Gordon when we've been lacking a natural left sided player is insane.

Fair point about parking the bus, we have had more possession in every game and seem to play on the front foot more than any team we have played so far. Should have said that instead.
