Fun fact; I went to school and was close friends with the son of former Sittingbourne and Gillingham manager Steve Lovell (who also played for Wales Daifol). To add to this, they lived in the house that Steve Bruce lived in when he played for Gillingham. And I’ve held Steve Lovell’s golden boot that he won when he played for Gillingham.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I lived opposite Lovell 2 years ago. nice bloke.
i find it crazy though Gillingham have been referenced twice (now 3) on this thread.
Gillingham are massive! best away end in football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wonder if they were still in the same house. I forget the street name.
When I was about 12 me and a couple of mates used to get the train (well two trains) from Sheerness to Gillingham to watch games at Priestfield. Our parents had no idea!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I work on the island now (dare I say, unfortunately. best part of my day is driving over the bridge) he doesnt live there now, he moved a year before I eventually moved.
sheerness to melbourne though mate, some ascension. good for you
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Another fun fact about that neck of the woods. I was in Chatham the other day and this bloke was eating dog food with a spoon at a bus stop

Holy shiiiit!

I was about to come on here and mention that my cousin was shaaaging Tony Eeles, Gillingham midfielder back in the day, but I've just heard something else that's floored me.

There's another islander on JA606. Not only that but a fellow Spurs fan.

I don't live there now as I'm in London but I grew up in Sheerness, most of my family still live there. My mum is still in the same house on Alma Road. Small world.

We used to go to Priesfield a lot as kids cos White Hart Lane back then was like another world. We needed somewhere closer to go. The Gills are still as shiiiit now as they were back then by all accounts.

I've never lived on the island I'm afraid. Grew up in Maidstone and now live in the country on the ar$ehole of Rochester.

I do however work in one of the prisons on the island and been here a decade.

More to the island than what people say about it but glad i don't live there.

very similar when it comes to the Spurs and The Gills though. been completely outpriced watching Tottenham and find myself regularly suffering watching Gillingham.

it really is a small world though

Mate, Sheppey is an absolute shiiiithole. It always has been. I go back to see family but I'm glad I don't live there anymore. You don't notice it growing up but when you leave and come back, christ, it really hits home.

Know Maidstone really well. My Dad lives in Snodland which is pretty close.

Going to watch United at Anfield in the cup when I was 15 or 16 on my bike. Arrived queued up and paid at the first entrance. Shouted for us, in the kop!
Got away with it because the bloke stood next to me was a star.
I've always thought we won 2-1 but actually it was 3-1, my head must have been somewhere else.p

On holiday in Palma Nova/Magaluf back in 1997 when I was 19 on our second night there I got blind drunk and couldn't remember getting back into my room.

As I emerged the next day around lunchtime this Swedish lady came up to me and stated "You were in our room last night!" I stopped to think and told her she must be mistaken but she described in detail what I'd been wearing and said "I shall ask my husband Lars".

Over came Lars, and their young child, and explained how I'd been let in by the security guard (they reckoned I must have mistaken the room number and stated I'd lost my key) and wondered into their bedroom.

I did apologise profusely and remember Lars telling me to enjoy my holiday "But perhaps drink less tonight, eh!".

Fair to say I've never lived it down.

Failed to adequately distinguished the differences between the Law of Property Act 1925 and Land Registration Act 1925 with a specific focus on the fee simple absolute and leasehold estates (which had just become the two legal only estates after the act came into law on 1st January 1926.)
