What were everyone's favourite memories of Man City?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When we were six easy points. Funny how everyone went off us when we started to win.

Arsenal will probably spend another £200m to keep up.

United will probably spend another £300m to finish top 4.

Liverpool still have £250m left from the sale of Coutinho and will need to spend it to chase down Arsenal.

Chelsea will add a further 35 players to their squad to stay ahead of United

Steve Lomas in 1996 playing keep ball in the corner against Liverpool to waste time in the last few mins when the score was 2-2 and City needed to win to avoid relegation.

When Pep retires you will be joining United, Chelsea etc. in spending big money and not seeing success. Pep is the only difference at the moment.

What happened with them laughably suing the Premier League?

The hearing was supposed to be at the start of June but I’ve not seen anything on the results.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They don't have to release the results of the verdict apparently.

A City win would presumably result in a change of the rules but there's been no news on that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds like it was a completely frivolous action, but it’s made them look absolutely terrible so that’s a silver lining I guess,
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing frivolous about it at all, it was a two week hearing. It also shouldn’t have got out into the public domain either.

Frivolous if it was unsuccessful, which hopefully it was. Entitled, low rent behaviour yet again.

See City managed to secure one of Brazils brightest young talents who made La Liga team of the season for just £30m (probably to be paid over 30 years)… fantastic business.

How do they do it!?!?!? Amazing.

Good article about Multi Club ownership on the BBC website, I imagine all ambitious clubs will follow City’s lead over the next 5 years

posted on 22/7/24

If you say so.

Stuff like that which is the reason everyone wants City to win the league if their team can’t. It just doesn’t really count in their eyes.

By the way you always bite, and through the reputation that you’ve built on here, yeah, I do.

I’m not sure flatly denying everything is telling the truth, nor is lying about caring what others think (demonstrated by how you ALWAYS bite).

It’s your call of course, I hate the route Liverpool are going down. It’s ruining football imo and £30m for him is nauseatingly blatant and why it’s described as the ‘biggest problem in football’ in the very article you referenced.

Whether it’s successful or not doesn’t change its levels of frivolity!

What’s entitled or low rent about any of it? You’re not advocating for the PL to be able to implement unlawful rules, surely?

posted on 22/7/24

They are if it benefits United/Liverpool/Arsenal

posted on 22/7/24

I think the Premier League should be allowed to implement what rules it likes tbh. It’s their competition and they’ve built a great product that we all enjoy.

What’s low rent entitled about constantly delaying investigations into cheating and then suddenly suing the company that invited you into their house? Really?

City are just a fvcking ball ache these days, and their ownership should never have been allowed and no amount of legal loopholes changes that morality. Disgusting club.

posted on 22/7/24

Morality? 😹

Do me a favour

posted on 22/7/24

That would be absurd though just at a base level, what if the premier league as a collective voted that Liverpool were no longer allowed to play in red, should they be able to do that?

They still have to operate within the law. That’s all this court case is doing - testing via the courts if they are or not.

We weren’t talking about the PL investigation. If you think City’s behaviour in that has been low rent then fine, you’re entitled to that opinion, it’s a completely different case and challenge though. Conflating the two is daft.

Personally. Im looking forward to the new Football Regulator.

Let’s hope he or she is truly independent and not just some lapdog doing the bidding of the American owned clubs
