Religion should get a grip and copy football. Sell all the draughty, expensive churches with only 80 of a congregation to Wetherspoons, turn the local ministers into bus drivers and everyone goes to a massive arena with all the other followers. Tens of thousands belting out Onward Christian Soldiers - what a buzz and they'll tell their mates. Add in drinks allowed and the money pours in - Sunday morning lean time for arenas anyway.

Then another sing song on the bus on the way back, dropped off at the 'spoons and, well... The local guy gets to know them better and can carry on with the pastoral care through the week. The very best regional preacher can do the arena service instead of the half dead or useless grifters that see religion as easy coin. There would be competition with neighbouring regions. They could afford major guest preachers. Yeah all a bit evangelical but hey shrinking rolls suggest they should try something?

Israel are allowed to attack Palestine as its an act of defence, Russia's invasion is deemed illegal as its not a case of defending, or removing a terrorist threat from within that country.

Yeah, a wee dig but back in the day they were the establishment and your school (religion) often decided your employment.
