Huge blow if true, easily 12-15 goals lost.
---------------
Well possibly not. Maybe whoever plays in the position vacated by Summerville will score a few goals of his own. Time will tell.

Gnonto down the left, Georgi down the right.

Strain for that last game in Germany my backside.

Oh well we can't say we didn't deep down suspect Summerville would leave us this window and at least it gives the club a good week before the new season starts to find a suitable replacement.
I wish him the best and I'll be surprised if Gnonto doesn't soon follow. That's football. Life and Leeds carries on.

If Cry goes, Willy goes imo.

Cry can go, so long as we go back in for the likes of Whittaker, Smozdics, Chair. Lose the bes in the league, go and get the next best in the league.

If he wants to go then let him but not at any price!

He will be missed but he’s not irreplaceable.

Bid for Jack Clarke?

Reading £25m but I am sure that cannot be right.

Agree pretty much.

Although, I'd rather we go buy player(s) who
fits exactly what Farke wants. And quality.

No point adding names if they end up being
square pegs or more of what we already have.

Best of luck Cree (and Willy G when he goes).

Why is it when the club know people will be after moving on,(I'm sure they've known for a while!)

Why is it people don't seem to think the club are talking to others?..

It seems the 49ers bring the unexpected/unknown in, and what they've brought in since taking over seem to be as good as/better than what they've replaced, so, lets wait and see what Farke wants and what the 49ers do about it?..

Losing best player in the champ is a massive blow.

This is what happens when you fook up promotion.

Two year left on his contract, no chance he will sign another while in the championship = Need to sell.

Deal agreed. Will be completed in next 24 hours. Big blow but we're still friggin strong for this league. Better now than after 2 games in I suppose.

Yep, pretty much expected but bitterly disappointed with less than 2 weeks to go until the start of the season … if we replace with quality, quickly, then we can recover from this … if we don’t, then it plays into the narrative of last season’s August debacle and the 49ers wont get another free pass. This year, it’s all on them and ‘I do contracts in my sleep’.

Pants down time. I guess 49ers don't think Summerville was the best player in the champ.
Lowering our price? Do we really have to operate like this?
I just hope we have time to bring in a proper replacement. Looks like whoever made this deal was asleep.

We don't even get enough money to replace him. Looks like we'll be getting a couple of loans in.

Its £25m, thats more than every other club in the league has spent

posted on 31/7/24

Id sign a quality 10 to replace him who can score goals.

We already have Gnonto, James, Rutter and Arronson who can play on the wing assuming Gnonto stays!

£25m - I think that's good business. Not sure we were
ever asking for £40m? Had a feeling it was clickbait sites
behind that number. £25m won't get a Prem player -
which is what Cree is. But it will get us a couple of top
level Championship players who might develop into
Prem players. Not defending club. Just a thought.

25 is terrible considering Brighton got 8 million for a 33 year old.

£25m gets you Sara and Ljubicic. If they are the two
players Farke wants, why not? Cree was destined to
leave us. Good luck to him. Reinvest the money.

I guess he wanted out pretty badly. I don't think the money that bad if we're desperate to sell, I just didn't think we were

posted on 31/7/24

Personally felt we would get £30m minimum but I guess it depends on what the add-ons are. Extra £1m for 20 games or extra £1m when West Ham win the champions league? Never any transparency in deals.
£85m in sales now.
£15m spent.
You wonder why they are fleecing loyal fans on ticket prices

As LIW mentioned when we blew promotion last season in the run in losing quality such as Cry was always likely to happen.

One point on the fee, we may have accepted a lower price with add ons but so we could insert a sell on clause in the deal in the event he moves on for a massive fee in the future.

Our best player for sure. Better this happens now and we can invest the proceeds to bring in other players than on deadline night.

posted on 31/7/24

£25 million plus add ons for the Championship player of the season is I suppose the going rate then and enough for the 49ers to accept so I hope Leeds have someone lined up that's going to be as much as an asset to the team in helping us achieve promotion automatically

I see all the online clips of Summerville with his Leeds
team mates and he looked like he was having a great time enjoying life and was part of a great camaraderie and you just hoped he wanted to be part of a successful Leeds United promotion campaign and then part of a future successful Leeds United Premier league side but he's decided West Ham is where he wants to be and where his future lies......Fack him!

Only joking but I think we hope or assume players have the same love and affinity for the club as we fans do and
the harsh reality is they very often don't and it's just a job which they can leave at the drop of a hat so Summerville
is just a brief but entertaining chapter in the LUFC story and we now move forward and eagerly await the next hero in the next thrilling instalment to unveil itself before our eyes......Ryan Kent incoming maybe???

Seems the difference between fans valuations and real life footballs valuations are well out of agreement!..

If we were buying him for 25m we'd all be happy, but the truth is its very rare the prices we want we get!..

If we find someone just as good or better with that money then its money well spent!..
