If we can sell either one of Casemiro or McTominay (hopefully both) then I’m pretty certain we’ll get the Uruguayan fella.
For me it isn’t worth worrying about the new season until the window shuts and we know where we stand.
And player sales tend to start ramping up in the last week of the window.

United need to try and sell/part with likes oif AWB, McT, Lindelof, Antony, Casemiro, Erikson, Sancho. When we start to achieve that and bring in better players I will feel a bit less worried about the future. Then there is the small matter of hitting the ground running and posting much better and consitent results in the PL than last season, especially at home, from ETHs and the players in his 3rd year and the new INEOS regeim. I expect to see United genuinely challenge for a top 4 and to qualify through our group for at least the KOs in the Ropey. Winning a trophy, if we can achieve that, would be a nice bonus, but not a dealbreaker.
That would be a great swap. I read PSG put in a bid for Alvarez, not sure what their budget is this summer?
We’ve won a trophy the last 2 seasons and while they were nice, performances for me are far more important.
Everyone is too hyped about our signings. Especially when ETH has a pathetic track record at improving players.
I’m disappointed it doesn’t look like we’ll be going for a right winger. I think we’ll struggle for goals again this season. Our attacking options really aren’t good enough.

Amad, Garnacho?
I think how worried/concerned people are will be dependant on their expectations going into the season.
I have kind of fallen into a more medium to long term optimism, but feel like there is going to still be a period where we follow one promising performance up with a poor one, and that this season is going to become a bit of a grind again when we hit injury problems.
The squad isn’t ready to fulfil most people’s expectations, despite the figures of how much we’ve spent in recent seasons. The same huge expensive flops people slate are the ones we need to try and get rid of but it’s not proving easy and we can’t just buy players and relegate those assets to the bench.
I think we’ll get De Ligt and Mazza within the week, and Ugarte late in the window depending what happens with McT/Casemiro.
I’m hopeful performances will improve, especially while we have our key players fit to build from the back and through midfield. But think we will still suffer from being overrun unless we really manage to pull a shock out the blue with another midfield signing.
I don't think we will finish top 4 again. 5th to 8th again so I will go for 6th place and being slightly optimistic we can finish above two of the clubs who finished above us last season.
So yet again it will come down to whether we can pick up a cup to give some feel good factor. I certainly wouldn't rule out us being absolutely crap again all season and somehow winning the Europa League. Definitely possible with no CL clubs dropping down this coming season.
Very underwhelmed with the signings so far / players we are strongly linked with though. A few more former ETH players with questionable fitness records isn't getting the juices flowing. A forward from Bologna who averages a goal every 4 games isn't exactly going to have our rivals up at night either is it?
Actually amazing to think we've spent £500m now under this manager and the squad is still very poor in all areas.

Can ANY Utd fan tell me ETHs style of play?? (This is not a wum btw, unusually for me I know..lol).
Hes had 2yrs there I "think"...more than long enough to implement a style, and had at least 4 transfer windows(?)
Because I cant for the life of understand his style!

You should ask Red Russian, not kidding he's our expert at explanations. Doubt he'll reply though, because why should you care.
But an explanation also available is to watch the cup final Vs City.

The game against City is actually the worst thing you can do 52. That's not how we played last season for 95% of the season. It was a strategy used to play against a world class team.
If we'd have played our normal game that day we'd have been beaten by 2 or 3 goals. Kudos to ETH for changing it and giving us best chances to win but you can't play that way for the entire season as not every team is going to dominate the ball like City do..

Didn't Leicester do that to win the title
I can't say that my concerns from last season don't remain but if some of what I've seen in pre-season translates to competitive games and providing we see improvements in form and fitness then it shouldn't be difficult to improve on last season both in terms of performance and results. There's still time for us to strengthen in the transfer market too of course.
I think we've shown better intent in pre-season with how we've set up without the ball, minimising space between the lines, collective pressing which is more in sync and more aggressive with the defensive line pushing up as it should.
This will hopefully bode well for us given we've still quite a few of our better players to return.
Plenty of issues still remain when it comes to build-up and quality in the final third though. Mazraoui (if he can stay fit) will help with the former especially.
Given some of the changes in personnel, players returning from injury and the change in back room staff, I suspect we’ll see quite a lot of differences from last season, particularly out of possession.
Didn’t Evans recently say that Ruud’s obsessed with defensive structure? Don’t know much about the other bloke that came in. But you’d imagine there will be some differences from last season just purely based on a change in coaching staff.
Though I can’t say I’m too enamoured with the signings of De Ligt and Mazraoui. So far it looks like we’ve become more competent with how we conduct our business, but I’m still skeptical over whether our recruitment is going to lead to significant improvements in the playing staff.

It’s direct, quick transition football.
We attack quickly when we win the ball back deep, or we’ll play out looking to draw the opposition on to us to commit players, before targeting forwards in channels to get in behind or for someone to hold the ball up/play in runners. If we lose the ball higher up, we’ll try to counterpress to win it back quickly. If we don’t, we usually drop in to a mid block.

I can’t believe we could be going into the new season without recruiting a midfielder. It seems like we’re only interested in Ugarte, and I don’t think we’ll be signing Amrabat either.
