Tad harsh that really

Mendez laing has been un embarrassment, the slide started with him not making effort to get to pass. Blackburn player came from behind and nicked, that lead to the second goal.

Have seen cash misjudge a few headers tonight, don’t remeber that so much last season

I think he had a dodgy start but became immense

Last season yeah, wasn’t referring to performances so much, just heading, thought he was so solid last season

We definitely need a defender in

Not the best start but our defenders know where the opposition net is at least.

Think a 2 goal difference was fair.

pre-season he seemed a little off his game. looks like he's not shaken that off.

Forsyth, Bradley and when he returns Rooney are not the options. We certainly need better when you consider Nelson ( our MOM) is a relegated defender with Blackpool. Cashin will need time and this division is going to be unforgiving.

I think an embarrassment might be a tad harsh given his contributions. Just an off game for him. For quite a few.

Warne has a great record in Div 1 and a crap one in the Championship.

With a smaller budget at Rotherham, hoping he gets the chance with maybe a little more in the budget. To be seen if he would succeed with it tho

I think due to slight knocks, not quite match fit PW would have opted for Nyambe and Adams from the start, especially away from home you know he prefers a more defensive approach. Who know how we'd have perform if we had those two.

Concerning yes but we also managed to score twice, have a LG1 GK at best along with a defence not quite at their peak performance.

I'll give the first 3-4 games a bye, get our squad together and then start judging this team. We've no Yates for 3 games due to suspension so lets see what he can offer, along with CBT when he returns from injury with a point to prove.

Well what do you take out of that ?
No doubt there will be those calling for Warnes head already.
I thought we were toothless up front and nieve with our defending. We were far too open and the Blackburn goals were the result of sloppy marking.
Fact is Championship is a big step up. We are 3/4 players short atm and the standard of players we need cost a small fortune even at this level.
1st half we showed them too much respect, 2nd half a much better showing despite the score.
We go again next week.
Cheers. Terry. UTR

I agree. He's looked off it so far this season. Looks leggy.

Well thought out and positive approach to take, it’s hard not to be riled by some elements of that performance, but I agree, there will be brighter moments to come

Could only listen this time.

Sounds as though Kenzo and Ozoh need to be more forward thinking; Jackson is not a CF; can't afford to have both Cash and NML off form; Nyambe needs to be fit and involved as he is such a good defender and we need more in the final third. Great to get two from set pieces but we need far more than just set pieces.

Must learn from this. Suspect that one or two were thinking Champ would be no harder than League 1. What a rude awakening!

Dembele joins QPR. Yeah I know.....he picked London life over quality football club. But they offered £3 million so unlikely we could have competed with those figures.

Gotta keep on looking and try and find at least 2-3 transfer gems. In other news earlier whilst Eric streele was telling us for the first time ever he worked at Manchester United with alex Ferguson he did also talk about the Swede GK and he comes with very promising reference and could turn out ti be a very shrewd signing. Certainly need a couple more of those along with a (yeah I think it's time to reference them) a Gregor Raziak esque and Indio Idiakez style player, I'd also include Marco Reich but we're heavy on wingers

Highlight of the night was watching Sheffield Utd and Preston fans throwing their handbags at one another whilst waiting for the train in Preston.

So very tired. More in the morning. Later in the morning.

Traffic terrible with all known roads closed and diversions via Caracas and Timbuktu, or so it seemed.

The backing from the fans was magnificent,

I thought we were a bit one-dimensional in our play. We got a head of steam up the second half but for us to get a goal seems to need to be by weight of pressure rather than creativity and cleverness. I don’t think that will be enough at this level and as we saw last night mistakes are punished. We need a focal point in attack and a bit of artistry. There were flashes from Kenzo but that was about it.

Just watching how poor Norwich are at Oxford.
Puts our performance last night into context !

They'd have lost with Sibs on. 😉
Great start for Oxford and Portsmouth, as I type this Leeds have just got one back to make it 3-3 and almost straight after made it 4-3!

Desi, how do you know Dembele has signed for QPR? I can't find any other reference to this anywhere.

Vidal, can you enlarge on Kenzo's role yesterday? So far he seems to me to be playing too deep and I would have thought he could do really well in a more advanced role getting in to the pen area more often. He has a creative spark but what do you think?

I saw something last night indicating his signing.

Here you go Chicago...
