Kind of surprised we are this close to the start of the season and United fans for the most fans seem to be very calm!

That is probably because most of us are rational and know that there isn't a thing we can do about it.

United are saving money. They wont buy anybody else until the last week of the transfer window so they dont have to pay their wages whist they dont play. I expect a couple more new signings at the end of August.

I mean, United couldnt seriously go into a new season with what little we have bought so far plus the injuries, and that most of the deadwood STILL remains in the squad.

What's the point in not being calm? I can't do anything about it and I'm certain we will get a few more in before the window closes.

I'm also looking forward to seeing if some of the youngsters can kick on and whether our luck with injuries clears up under the new regime.

Perhaps even, with a new coaching emphasis, will come better cohesion. Some players may also have seen the penny drop and see that their cushy days are over.

If we dont improve the squad, either by selling or buuying this summer and start as we did last season after an equally chite tour and senior players coming back from the Euros unfit, or worse, Erik will be gone well before Christmas.

There were always a number of factors which were always going to make this summer extremely difficult.
We all knew this from the start- I can't for the life of me understand why people are now surprised about it all of a sudden.

We are in an absolute facking mess in terms of the profile of our squad, and it's going to take 2/3 years to fix. In an ideal world we'd be able to upgrade all of Lindelof, AWB, Casemiro, McT, Sancho/Antony this summer. But we need to get rid of those players first and we just cant. That isn't the fault of the new regime.

I'm still confident we'll sign at least a midfielder and one more CB in any case.

Of course. We definitely need better players but you can coach players and give them a better structure within which to work with as well to make the team more functional IMO. Which Ten Hag did towards the end of last season with good results.

Quite a few players out of contract next summer. Hopefully a huge turnaround of players next year with all this year to lay groundwork on incomings.

Hoping for a few new faces still this summer, maybe they won’t be the ‘big’ signings needed though if we can’t make the outgoings we hoped we could.
