Idah was £8.5M rising to £9.5M.... Norwich have 15% sell on clause.
The board will be puking at spending that. The Thing is, with our cash, we should be signing two players of this value every season. The board still think they should be spending 1990 values.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn’t seem to have been our finest hour in terms of price negotiations, to put it mildly. Very happy to get him in though, albeit doing it a month ago and a full pre-season with us would surely have been far better? Onwards and upwards anyway … to get that LB signed.
Reported that Norwich were asking for £12m and we started negotiations at £4.5m
£7.5m of a gap so the mid way point is somewhere like £8.25m, so maybe we weren’t that poor at negotiating. Add ons and sell ons are fairly commonplace these days.
Still didn’t expect us to go that high, but if we hadn’t the fan backlash in doing nothing was inconceivable to the board.

Agreed, but reports are still quoting a wide range of guesses. It will suit our board nicely to let the higher number proliferate but I'd bet the actual commitment is closer to the lower £7m also being quoted. I mean FFS we seem to be arguing the fvck over £3m for Beck so we aint just throwing an extra £2.5m at Idah.
the danger of not getting a agreed fee after loan.
Norwich knew they had our baws in a vice.
Truth is, its the sale of abada and lawal and we still have change.
u can hear how frustrated the manager is now, did lawwell not come out after the january window and say they were not pleased with how it went?
way to buck up your ideas for next time there peter.
Somebody is either really bad at their job, or really good at the job they are being asked to do.
given then fee paid for Idah here, i'd say a mixture of both.

not at all, i think they are really bad at their job, the job they are being asked to do is not do it.
but when they have to do it, they are schite at it.
they are not worthy of celtic imo.
btw - miovski for 6, better shout than idah for 9 imo.

what if Idah was only 7?
Idah can and should slot straight back in which is a benefit over Miovski.
And selling him to us was a non starter I believe. They’d have stuck out for way more than the £6.5m.
you know what you are getting for 7 then over 6 i suppose?
he's not worth 9.5 but i couldn't care less, they sell players, they make money and they spend it badly every time on schite agents recommend.
mind we nabbed 3 players from rubin kazan, how the f... did that happen?
CB is still a big problem area, scales is rotten and we need better than taylor. that left side of defence is heavily exposed.
taylor is still inverting something awful and scales isnt capable of covering it, i also dont think taylor is a good enough footballer to be doing that.

Is still like a couple of upgrades. We must be selling O’Reilly. It’s the optimum time and too huge a risk to leave it another season. That’ll be a downgrade no matter what. So, someone new in midfield that can be a starter.
Must have an improvement on Taylor as I think the likes of Cerny will rip him a new one; never mind what a half decent team in Europe will do. And I’m convinced Dessers is now finding his touch. Wouldn’t put it past him to score against us in a couple of weeks.

According to the flock, Miovski wanted to play in Italy, Spain or one of the other big leagues, he wasn't interested in us or them.
yeah they aren't as bad as ppl seem to be making out, maybe i'd feel more comfortable if we had taken some initiative and really pushed forward, but as it stands our squad is weaker.
kyogo went down twice at the weekend, it's unacceptable that he is our only striker, no matter how you slice it.
O'Riley is away and fair play to him, but yet again it will be a position in which we are weaker than last season and last season we were not great.
just fed up with it tbh, fed up of their constant marketting, fed up of them playing up on supporter loyalty.
they are running a business, and football just happens to be a part of that business.

the contempt they show for fans just irritates me, in a season we were furious because they handed they put 10 in a row in the hands of pint slurping twit who didn't bother with trivial things like "tactics" they gave it "peter is leaving celtic"
a year later he is "back" like that wasn't the plan all along, don't worry, the fans will never piece such an obvious plan together.
wonder if he was still paid by the club in that gap year btw.
