1. Liverpool knew about the release clause.Kept waiting long
2. Strory of Liverpool willing to pay the fee. But Zubi to accept joing first
3. He's happy to join
4. Thinking about it and then rethinking
5. Socidad trying to convince him to stay.
6. The player change of heart to stay.
7. Club wanted to sell Carvalho and use the money for this transfer
Different stories were coming out as if the sctipt was written to make it a long process and delay things.
We don't seem to hear the long negotiation process with other clubs or at least not leaked to the media like it happens with Liverpool
It wasn't a release clause, it was a buyout clause. There would be no transfer fee as such, we would have been paying Zubimendi to buy himself out of his contract. We were ready to do this, but Zubimendi needed to make that decision to buy himself out which, in the end, he obviously decided against doing.
So what has stopped the club paying it. We are not dealing with amateurs. Edwards and Hughes are experienced enough to deal with these issues.

The fact that the player decided against buying himself out. He had to make the decision to do it himself, and if he would have done so then we would have paid him the money to do it. What would be the point in paying him before he's decided to activate the clause?
The first thing you do before offering the money is check if the player is genuinely interested. We never got an agreement with the player from day 1.
Just like Caicedo. Chelsea had him sweetened all summer and it was only a matter of time. We never spoke to the player and got any verbal agreement. We just decided to put in the bid knowing there was a 5% chance that it will go through.
2 summers in a row we have been humiliated.

Probably the reports he was told he had to pay his buyout would be a good indicator that he was at least tempted. Or we can believe this crazy conspiracy that the club are going for players they know they have no chance with just to please the likes of you for a few days only to let poor you down again.

We are the only club in Europe's top 6 leagues not to have brought anyone in. Our captain, our vice captain and our star player are out of contract in 10 months.
The club has a new manager and new structure from top to bottom.
Not being concerned is just putting your head in the sand. FSG have a history of embarrassing decisions during transfer window and of course have had their remarkable successes too. So far as fans, we are once again experiencing the latter. Still time to sort it out, but from the outside looking in it looks an absolute mess.
18m off the wage bill, Carvalho fee received , Solanke fee received (lovely stuff , with rumours of Clark, McConnell and Endo being shown the door. Plenty of money coming in, Hogan spouting off about pairing with blue chip companies with sponsorship deals. Money should really not be an issue. Three weeks to sort this shizzle out and back their new manager. Not doing so would be a dereliction of duty in my eyes.
Oh yeah if it's still the same by the end of the window then that would be bad. But let's see.

But by all accounts he was getting increasingly tempted to make the move before deciding to stay put.

Find me the account?

Probably the reports he was told he had to pay his buyout would be a good indicator that he was at least tempted. Or we can believe this crazy conspiracy that the club are going for players they know they have no chance with just to please the likes of you for a few days only to let poor you down again.

Anyone can pay that buyout. Even Chelsea would have paid it given the chance but some clubs do a thorough due diligence while we just do PR.

The idea that we go for players that are unobtainable for PR use really is quite insane.
For starters, it’s awful PR.
Put twitter down.

Why is it panty wetting?
