So what has stopped the club paying it. We are not dealing with amateurs. Edwards and Hughes are experienced enough to deal with these issues.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The fact that the player decided against buying himself out. He had to make the decision to do it himself, and if he would have done so then we would have paid him the money to do it. What would be the point in paying him before he's decided to activate the clause?
----------------------
Ok let's believe that's what happened, but why not signing alternative No.6. That's a disgrace. I'm not accepting that there was no plan B. Don't tell me no one is available. We wanted Calofiori but be joined Arsenal. We wanted Yoro and pulled out because they thought he was joing Real. He joined Man Utd instead. It's been shambolic and please stop defending FSG. That doesn't make you a loyal fan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are three weeks of the transfer window left so why not just see what happens instead of $hitting the bed because a player changed his mind? We were linked with Calafiori and Yoro but we decided not to pursue either. As for your last sentence,I'm just providing some rational responses.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
While I agree that there are 3 weeks left in the window, our season starts in 4 days and the window has been open nearly 2 months. There’s no excuse to be waiting this long to sign a number 6 which even my 1 year old daughter could tell you was the glaring weakness in the squad.
It’s been very very poor so far.

Oh yeah if it's still the same by the end of the window then that would be bad. But let's see.

Season starts Saturday.
Last season we were late with transfers and it cost us points.

The idea that we go for players that are unobtainable for PR use really is quite insane.
For starters, it’s awful PR.
Put twitter down.

Whatever happened there's been some naivety at least. I saw a lot of Liverpool fans gloating about how it must be a done deal if Joyce was reporting it, so if he's the Liverpool mouthpiece people say then they didn't handle the situation brilliantly.

Since the window was open, we've had the Euros and the Olympics. The Olympics finished on Sunday. Did you really expect signings during this time?
And don't quote what other clubs have done, I'm not interested.

I did tbh, and if not that then a contract extension of any from our Captain, Vice Captain and/or our best player.
Not really sure about the validity of not being interested in what other clubs have done, because that’s where the expectation comes from as it demonstrates it’s quite clearly possible.
We’re the only side in the entire football league not to sign someone, and the only club in Europes top six leagues.
It’s been a terrible window so far, there’s no denying it.
