he has 2 years left on his deal so it's a bit of a make or break it year for him, if he can't manage to be consistent across a whole season he'll probably be moved on next summer
don't really care about the balloons stuff and think he's a very good player when he's at it so I hope he figures it out

I agree..... We've all seen how good he can be BUT..... If he aint gonna do it when it matters he's of no use. Tired of Spurs having these highlight real players... NDombele, GLC etc... Just hope he doesn't prove to be another.. we cant afford anymore "passengers"
he's definitely not at that level yet, he can stay fit for a start
Everyone does balloons, not a big deal
If we can add another CM (being linked with Locatelli today) then Biss can play an important squad role.
I feel that if we have to rely on him too much then we will see mistakes from him.
I like his confidence & calm but sometimes he just comes across too casual and can make sloppy mistakes / appear asleep & be caught in possession.
I don't really buy that he is sloppy, he has one of the highest pass completion rates on one of the highest number of passes attempted per game.
the truth is you're inevitably gonna give the ball away a few times a game when you play the way we do.

Totally agree Re Biss....... Locatelli is a good player, would like him at Spurs.. would efo be an U/G
I think Bissouma is basically very good at most things we need from the position, very press resistant, covers ground well and makes a lot of tackles, can progress the ball efficiently even if he doesn't have a particularly impressive passing range
he does have however two incredibly annoying flaws that stick out like a sore thumb and when they compound in one game it can feel like he's the worst player on the pitch
1) so poor at tracking runners, when the ball is in front of him and he can step up and press and win the ball he's very good defensively but as soon as it goes over his head and he has to run back towards his own goal he must completely switches off and doesn't pick his man up
2) not aggressive enough showing for the ball relative to how good he is at recieving on the turn, can often disappear in games we're being pressed high because hes happy to just stay in position and sit in an opposition player's cover shadow, even though they are the games that we need his press resistance the most. Normally gets worse if he's had a bad giveaway receiving with his back to goal early on and his head drops a bit
Normally I think people are too quick to default to blaming intangibles in football but I think it's very fair with him, he's a confidence player who's head can drop nd who can lose concentration easily . I think those sending offs early in the season were a big reason for his drop in form
The guy definitely isn't a genius. Got himself into a bit of trouble when at Brighton in a nightclub and got himself banned from driving for multiple speeding offences too. I know nothing was proved with the nightclub incident but with everything else on top I'd say there's no smoke without fire.
A lot of our fans were desperate for us to sign him (to be fair, we needed a midfielder) but I was glad we dodged that bullet.
A lot of players are just plain daft and this will always be the case. Most are picked up at a very young age and know nothing but football. Probably treated like kids until they are 18-21 so some never grow up.
Once they hit adulthood they have some much wealth I guess "no" is something they never hear so they continue on as they are. Yeah some settle down get married have kids but I guess big chunk of them don't.
You would think kids these days would be wise to the fact everything today is instant and the world will see it, you can't hide.

You make a great point about tracking runners. Sadly for us its an area that both Madders and Bentancur are not great at either... The only one that does is Sarr and personally I think it's why we put our back 4 under so much pressure esp when theres space behind both FBs..... Ive not watched enough of Gray or Begvall to know if either play with a bit more discipline & energy or whether we really do need another CM with PEH gone and Skipp probably a bit of his depth against the good teams
showing for the ball is something that annoys me. 2nd half vs bayern was good where Bergvall and Bentacur were both doing this and we were a lot better

He kinda reminds me of Demeble in that for so long we all knew he could be really really good but he didnt always show it, or only occasional glimpses. He came good in the last couple years at the club
If Bissouma can even be half the player Dembele was from 2016-2018 he'll earn himself a new contract
Bissouma doesnt have strength or recovery defending

Don’t rate him because his good performances (which can be excellent) are so far and few between. The inconsistency of our midfield costs us.
I heard someone say they felt Bissouma sees Spurs as being his level - so in his mind, he’s made it already. Like, he doesn’t see himself getting another move to the next tier of club. This sums up how I see his performances.

It’s the hallmark of a great player
There's no way they'll both be here next season when they're gonna be going into the last year of their contracts
one of them will probably prove to be the starting option and get extended and the other will be sold either in January or next summer
or maybe they'll both struggle and be moved on

I actually feel that the CM was a bit lightweight last year and Bissouma was carrying much of the burden.
Bentancur missed a lot through injury and then his come back was slow in terms of regaining decent form.
Sarr is young and his form up and down, understandably.
Skipp...Meh.
Hojbjerg a very decent pro but really not suited to our system of playing.
GLC absent a lot and a more advanced position.
This is why i still think we need another body in there because Gray & Bergvall will come good but it will take time
