Were Etihad audited, was it part of the evidence?

I don't recall any reference to it and surely if there was no money in from ADUG to match the claims of UEFA then it would have been an open and shut case...which it wasnt.

Because like I said the inference from Uefa was that auditors were misled. Etihad were audited every year, the accusation is essentially false accounting, which is a lot more serious than any disguised equity into City.

Yes Etihad will have been audited but i am not sure that was part of the evidence.

I like another quote in there somewhere which says something like "corruption is by its very nature concealed, as the parties involved will seek to use evasive means to ensure they leave no trail of their wrongdoing"

Therefore if a party is being accused of corruption or fraud, then of course they acting in a way which is not appropriate and will seek to conceal that.

For me it should be no surprise if a party is willing to mislead (their accountants, for example) in order to achieve their corrupt objective.

It is not a defence.

No one said it was a defence! We’re talking about the severity of the allegation.
