Morning Sizz!
Glad we finally get going today! Hate these Monday night games!!
Let’s hope we start this season like we started last year and not how we finished it!!
COYS!!!
Think I’m gonna be positive and go 1- 3.
Kulusevski
Solanke
Sonny
I don’t know what to make of spurs this year. Too many players I know nothing about have signed. I hope we have recruited wisely and got the first choice of the manager. I fear we have not bought what was needed to address the issues of last season. I see no number 6, no cover for udogie and no improvement in our weird set piece situation
However, solanke could be the missing part for the front line and some of the youth players look ready for a chance
No excuses for not beating Leicester. Ange told us he wanted a title tilt this year, so he would have told the chairman what he required to make that happen. It’s time to see if he has what is required.
1-4 to spurs
Easy 3 nil win for Spurs. Total domination.
Leicester arent our bogey team. They've beaten us 6 times and we've won 11 in the last 20 games
2-0 Spurs (Solanke & Bergvall)

Gray is the 6 long term, looks like we are still trying to buy a ready made player for that position this window. Ange spoke about Spence covering Udogie and Spence played there at times for Genoa last season and did well.
Set pieces - 2 big changes: 1. The Prem are no longer letting players block players like what happened to us many times last season 2. Solanke is a huge asset at defending set pieces as he is aerially dominant.
Did Ange tell us he wanted a title tilt?
I think he is of the mind set that anything is possible and if you asked him will we be challenging for the title.he will say , why not.
It's part of his psychology that everything is possible, so players have this in their mind, they set themselves the highest ambitions and should be gutted if they fall short.
I think there is a difference between having an expectation of a title tilt and having an attitude of Why Not. If we are not in the running come the latter parts of the season it is not a stick to beat Ange/Levy with because I think most sensible fans know it's a bit too early in our progress to expect this.
But I think these players are a young and very exciting group and a genuine expectation of a title.tilt will come

Nobody can really talk about the title until after the Christmas fixtures!
Did somebody mention a title tilt?
Finally we play. It’s been agony all weekend waiting. COYS
You miss the point Sizzle. It's about expectations and goals which you set at the start, which is different to looking at it in January and deciding what realistic goals are then.
City and Arsenal will have the expectation of a title tilt. We're not there yet and most teams aren't in the 2nd year of a rebuild under new management.
Artetas 2nd full season (2.75 seasons as he joined in the november) he got them to 5th, behind us, Klopp got Liverpool 4th, Emery 4th

Yes I know what he’s doing, he’s talking the talk, which Is fine if it’s followed up with results.
There is a narrative around Ange that he wins trophies in his second season.
Take the cups plus Europe seriously and with a bit of luck we could land one

It’s was so memorable
I think he is going to take the Europa seriously, can’t exactly put my finger on why I feel like that, but I think he will fancy it on his CV. I’ve said before, the new format is set up very well for the better sides to make the Quarters. 8 well spaced group games, even draw, top 8 skip the first KO round, the top 8 are seeded for the last 16 - if you finish 1st in the group you play the lowest ranked remaining side and so on. Top 8 get the second leg at home.
If we go for it properly, we should be making the quarters , with no CL drop outs we have a decent chance from there. The quarters are in April - at which point we know if our league season is good, bad, ugly and we can decide on how to proceed from there
think the only question mark in the line up is whether Bentancur or Gray start as the 6

Well apparently the whole squad Is available so probably Bentancur.
In fact we will probably get a good idea of Ange’s preferred first 11 tonight.

In theory, it should be the easiest trophy to win out of the four competitions we are in as it is the only one which doesn’t contain City, Liverpool or Arsenal. And I’d say it’s more coveted than the Carling Cup.
We should stand a good chance of winning it if we take it seriously.
