11.5 days to save the season

We're waiting for Jaydon Anthony to not be in Bournemouth's 25 man squad. Deals like that I reckon.

£40m is exactly where I’m at. Can’t see why that’s unreasonable.

Not going to loss my head yet like a lot have. But yes 12 days to spend £40m and a lot better than they did when buying Piroe.

Squad is wafer thin. 18/19 players for a club this size is taking the pizs. Add to that, two of the squad are injury
prone historically. Firpo's already on the brink of suspension and we have no true cover at LB. Wober
seems to want out and has phoned it in. And, within
all that we have three kids in there too.

I've lost any trust in Farke. He needs stars to bail him out. We have one left in Gnonto. Will he stay?

Right mess.

Hey Batty, it’s great that you’re half Welsh. I am Welsh . I think it’s probably 3 players who are injury prone, Byram, Bamford and Firpo

Add to that Struijk, Bogle and Rodon all been mentioned in recent times in relation to injuries but lets face it, no player can guarantee an injury free career and a small squad is very risky.

Yes I think until they prove otherwise The Phoney9ers is an apt description...Also Waste Of Timers, Greedy Biighters and Smarmy Schysterz.

People wanted 49ers to do their transfer deals in private, so really can't suddenly complain about that.

However, they could be far more vocal on the state of play and visibility of some sort of plan moving forwards.

For such sports savvy and media savvy people, the 49ers are woeful in that department when it comes to Leeds.

Jonty they've dropped the ball quite a bit when
it comes to this and the past two transfer windows.

Cat's out the bag regarding our giant pot of money.
No way they're getting the sort of deals now they
thought they would.

Just because, we’ve got a massive pot, doesnt mean you cant get the same deal has before unless your not very good at negotiating.

A club either wants to sell or they dont

You don't think the selling clubs have the upper hand?

posted on 19/8/24

All depends on circumstances.

If a club needs to sell to be able to buy players, buying club probably in a better position.

Player contract getting closer to the end, buying club in a better position.

Player want to leave, buying club in a better position.

But there are other instances, where selling club has the other hand.

My point is just because we have money, doesnt mean we have to be bent over.

Having money and having money to spend are two different things in this day and age.

If we have brought in £100m from play sales, in any sane world you'd think we'd be able to go out and spend that how we like, on buying the best players and paying their wages but we end up having to shop at the local Trussell Trust instead of Fortnum and Masons.

Probably.

The other interesting question that came from Georgi's release clause, from what I understand, is that it needed to be triggered by a certain date. So had Brighton not bid the required amount by last Wednesday, I think it was, I believed the clause would have lapsed, I'm not sure this is the case but if so is it always the case and if so I wonder when Gnonto's runs out.

My Plymouth supporting mate is very surprised nobody has come in for Whittaker, I must admit to not knowing much about him, he didn't really impress in the 4 games we had with them last season. I haven't really seen Coventry too much either, but the player that always seem to stand out is Haji Wright...anyone else out there that we should be looking at?

Take this Ljubicic at FC Koln. If rumours are correct,
we offered 3.5 mill euros. It was rejected by the club. Bloke's in his final year. He could be had for free next summer. But that does us no good now. Apparently
Farke wants him. Koln holding out for more - they like
everyone know we have a pot. And a fan base not happy that its taking so long to get deals done. Koln
have also said they want him to stay, sign a new deal.

Now Ljubicic is sitting out team activities. I assume to force a move. If it's to us then is the Pressure on 49ers or Koln? Why dont the 49ers say heres 5 mill?

If this is the player Farke wants.

Or maybe stay at €3.5m, and if we go up then throw them a bone.

steross, sure. Do that. So why haven't they (again assuming this example is a player Farke wants).

Or maybe they have tried that and Koln said yeah
we'll take the promotion adds, but it's that plus 5 mill.

Basically, the club are dithering and time's ticking.

Maybe the 49ers plan for the club isn't the same
as what the fans want. All a bit weird right now.

That Bashir lad from Chelsea we were linked too going to Burnley. We're litterally sitting on our hands letting everyone else buy everyone.

Burnley and Sheff U swinging a bigger stick so far.

I know mate...it's so frustrating! Can only hope they are working on deals and not excuses, because they have the money and the time.

Listening to the Square Ball with Beren Cross.
He brought up a good point: if the 49ers were
so dead against release clauses, why did
they put one in Archie's new contract?
