Does Gnonto have a release clause?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Either you know, or you don't know. Which? 🤷‍♂️
How does 'probably' add anything.

I've heard he hasn't. But I'm not going to argue with you cos I don't know.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The point I go on to make is below, read on further before being such a pedant. He probably does have a release clause that hasn't been triggered but like Rutter's it may be time related. It's called moving the conversation on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not being pedantic, just can't see the point in having a debate/discussion/argument about something you know nothing about. Not just you, many on here who are now going into meltdown.
But 1 Sept, when we know what's what and whether anyone has come in or not, and Paraag has spoken... THEN we can debate/argue/moan what's happening.

Till then, just don't see the point.

How have we done well with Nick Hammond by the way, as far as I can see he's been in aestivation for the last month, nice work if you can get it.

It's what's the forums here for, it lets let off steam, if you don't want to take part don't.
People are anxious.

Shouldn't have tacked my point onto where I did I get that but maybe all you needed to write was "Calm down guys, wait until 1st September, when the dust has settled, you're all getting anxious over nothing".

Doesn't feel like you are singling one person out that way.

So, again, a comment with no basis. Yes, you can't see any results yet, but guy might have been working his bolleaux off for all you know.

I really don't get this need to expel energy on nothingness

And yes Dennis, I don't mean to pick on you alone. Your comment just came at the time I needed to expel my own hot air on the state of the debate on here

I get the frustration and timing of contracts/ decisions between owners is open to debate, fact is we will never know……

I am with LIW I genuinely cannot believe anyone would say the owners wouldn’t want promotion, simply breathtaking…….

Like most not sure on terms of contract but relegation clause I understand was from last year….. might be wrong……

I seem to remember some on here saying after relegation we would be lucky to get £5million for Rutter, now we are outraged at a clause selling him on for £40million. To think we could renegotiate a £60m release clause after relegation is just naive.

We have rich owners who have to play within the rules…… On paper Newcastle should be able to buy success what have their transfer plans been like if money is no object?

What has Farke ever done for Leeds United in one season? Erm got 90 points……

Totally agree massive 11 days for this great club

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very good point regarding Rutter & this forum. Clearly remember him being described as our "worst ever signing". Not many even thought he was a starter last season.

It's not just clauses in contracts that have killed us.
Lack of addition to the squad in key places last January
messed us up. Farke's stubborn lack of rotation of
the squad. Farke's lack of a plan B. Reliance on historically jnjury prone players. Farke not being as
good as he was cracked up to be. Selling 4 key players
this summer. Lack of signings now.

Before the club jettisoned everyone and their dog,
we needed to add at least 3 players. Right now we
need 5-6 players to have a chance of top 6.

In other words, there's enough fck ups to go round.

Does anyone know if we can dictate terms of the payment on a release clause? In Rutter's case, can we demand that Brighton pay all up front?

What’s happening with Rutter…. 5 days on and he’s still not signed and looking at Brighton that day I don’t think he gets a sniff in that team other than as a sub.

Not much evidence he's doing much, he's clearly not coming into work and sleeping all day but there's little to prove otherwise to your average fan. Kebab said he was doing well, last season Ampadu, Kamara, Gruev, Byram, Rodon, Crew, Darlow, Piroe, Pirie, McDonald, Anthony, Spence and Roberts.
This season Rodon, Byram, Cairns, Bogle and Rothwell.
The positions that most Leeds fans and Farke have identified as needing covering remain uncovered.

Surely the time to evaluate whether he has done a good job is the 1st September, Bamford in the year he was banging goals in and was called for England was doing a good job.

BBC & Sky sport have just confirmed Rutter has signed for Brighton for £40million. I wish him well and it will be interesting to see what impact he has in the EPL a little over 15 months since his last rather disappiinting appearance in the big league.

I wonder if a part of our transfer problems is that we seem to be totally focused on a narrow band of British players? Bad as Orta was, if you add up his incomings and his outgoings, I suspect he is in profit. We also have to acknowledge how much joy we got from Raph, Rutter, Cree and presently, Gnonto.
I find it difficult to believe that somewhere on this planet, there is not a professional footballer who would give his right arm to play for Leeds. So who is looking at the players and why are they not coming in? I just saw Arthur Nwonkwo play a blinder in goal for Wrexham yesterday. Aren't these technical directors paid to find talent like this? What exactly do they do all day?

..and you know how everyone was wetting themselves that we've gotta pay most of the Rutter money to Hoffenheim?

Hoffenheim had no sell on clause.

Keep reading that Farke has quite a few criteria for a player to be considered worthy of his ranks. How about
we just use one: very good at football. And stop fcking
about and build a squad.

I did think this myself. Brighton may have met the release clause amount but surely the terms of the payment must be in that clause too. Otherwise as you say, Leeds could say pay it all upfront in sixpences, if they wanted to avoid the sale. 🤷‍♂️

Strange the way people were saying how good the players coming in last year were good players and are now saying the 49ers are the bollox of the earth!..

The way the 49ers work, and it was said when they were taking over that they do things in the background and don't let on until things are done, they've done well at getting some of the unwanted players out and getting better money for players they're now having to let go!..

Why is it people say things about a small squad and things not happening, maybe the small squad will be added to with players like at the start of last season we had no idea about!..

Some players than came in late but there were some good players in there!..

We’ve already dropped 4 points, 2 games in.

How many deals can we make in 11.5 days? We will have played 2 more games in that time and incoming players have to settle in the area, get to know their teammates and gel into the team.

All crucial time lost. We’ve surely had money to spend for a month and done nothing.

Unless Farke becomes a tactical genius over night, I honestly can’t see anything but maybe playoffs this season.

Wasted too much time already. Pathetic owners
