^ Just to add, looking at the McT outgoing (say £30m) and Ugarte incoming (say £50m) transfers in that light, with that caveat accepted, that we might look back on that as really, really good business.
As long as we keep pairing him with Mainoo and Mount if may work but I am still doubtful. I don't want that drop off which I feel is inevitable.
Mctom leaving is sad but he has obvious weaknesses. For 30 million it is an absolute godsend.
Does McTominay want to leave?
Got a feeling he'll hang around, shown no real desire to move on. After Fernandes the second biggest goal scoring threat from midfield.
Good player for the squad to have imo.

Not sure, I’d have being trying to get rid of Sancho before him. He’d arguably fetch more money and is fracking useless
TBH I'd rather have McT than Mount in our squad but there's obviously no avenue to getting rid of mount ATM.
Good fee (if true), good club, should do well, wish him the best!

Berge?! What a shiiit signing that will be, only way we could top that is spanking 60m on braithwaite. Let’s hope it’s the Uruguayan fella.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ugarte the destroyer is the main target. Berge would be someone in-between, younger with a sell on value - worth the punt for now until we can upgrade next summer, he'll then provide the required competition within the squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Berge is 3 years older than Ugarte

I can't image we'd be negotiating over a player we don't want to move on. Or that we will only sell if the player is happy to move, when have we done that before?

We wouldn’t have reached this point in negotiations unless both United and McT were happy for them to proceed. It’ll just be getting the fee agreed.
Strongly suspect this will happen now, and should be a good move for all parties involved.
I do think he'll go.
It's not his fault but he just isn't good enough for where we want to be.
He'll leave with my best wishes though and I hope he'll do well wherever he ends up.

Tbf he’s got some team mates who are equally as good at that
McT has now had seven seasons, best it is that long, since he came into the team.
I still can not give you one midfield skill that he is good at.
£30m would be a decent deal for all parties.
I'm surprised Chelsea haven't signed him, they're signing everyone and anyone
