Seems no one wants to take a gamble on him. Ironic.

We know too much of him. Brentford should have sold him as soon as he was the in thing. Anyways maybe he should go a club like Leicester

If we had better quality and depth in midfield, I'd love us to sign Toney. However we have bigger priorities.

Arsenal would be the most logical choice, but apparently Arteta hates him because he tweeted about scoring against them once.

Not when there's a 27yo France international striker available on a free

I'm trying to figure out Diafol's wum. Martial is 28 (just checked).

Also

If a player is entertaining the idea of going to Saudi at the peak of his career, that says something about his motivations and tell me we're better off avoiding him,

He's so lazy he even skipped a birthday so he's 27, OK?*

*The irony here is that I was quite lazy not doing my proper research but we should let that slide IMO.

Why would he go to Leicester (with a big chance of relegation) when he can stay at Brentford where he’s the club captain?

I think that if Toney moves this summer then it will likely be abroad. It doesn't look like anyone in the PL wants him. From what I have heard, a move to Saudi could be worth close to £100m for him. Crazy money for a bloke that has only scored 36 goals in a top league (and only 25 in open play).

If I were him, I'd be taking the money. It'd probably mean an end to his England career, but he has never been first choice there. Imagine being able to retire with that amount of money having played 80% of your career in the lower leagues. Take the money Toney!

I’m not one to encourage good players going to Saudi, for obvious reasons, but for a player like Toney you can understand it when he’s spent so long in the lower leagues. This isn’t like Benzema going there.

Its an absolute lottery win for the bloke. Even if he only goes for 1/2 years he should do it. 4 years ago he was playing for Peterborough! Now he has the opportunity to earn wages that only a tiny percentage of footballers have ever earned and secure his/his family's future. He would be mad not to go if a PL move isn't in the offing.

He's still on the same contract he signed when he went to Brentford in 2020, around the £15k a week mark apparently.

Can't blame him for considering Saudi, given the lack of interest from PL teams.

Rumours are he'd be on £327k a week in SA. It is an absolute no brainer for him. Even if it is for a year, he is set for life.

Hope he’s been doing ok on just £15k a week, poor guy.

Gambling is illegal in Saudi Arabia

comment by Silver (U6112)

posted on 22/8/24

"Gambling is strictly prohibited in Saudi Arabia under Islamic law. The country has a strict moral code, and all forms of gambling are considered haram (forbidden). The government enforces this law rigorously, and those found guilty of gambling can face severe punishments, including imprisonment and flogging."

TBF the punishments would be just like signing for Chelsea.

from 15k(8k after tax) to a reported 300k tax free so the equivalent of about 550k per week in England.
