What if....?

If we end up with say 2 points from first 4 then yes I think Ange is already under pressure
Last season we were very poor in the main from November onwards. The tactics are very questionable and if they don’t produce results for nearly a year, you have to act

we'll beat Everton and more than capable of at least a draw in the other two

i say with no conviction whatsoever

What if we lose all 38 games?

What if the players all go on strike?

What if Ange is abducted by aliens?

One thing you can guarantee is if we somehow win all 3 then people will be saying Ange is the messiah and we will win the title
It’s the nature of modern football

I would use the golf analogy. A 28 handicap can hit a very good shot. Statistically, he could hit 50 in a row, but eventually the technique will fail and normal service prevails.

I think we are a bit like a much less exciting Newcastle under Keegan.

I would say given the business we have done this summer having only signed one player above the age of 20, the club is clearly taking a long term view and things would have to be much worse than 4 games without a win to start the season for Ange to get sacked

what do you think it would take ?

if we carry on seeing the same patterns all season with conceding and not taking chances, possible battered in some big games and miss out on europe with no trophy?

like the run of form that we had when Poch got sacked basically, in the bottom half in November

He'll be better in more trouble if he keeps picking Johnson!

Regardless of the results in our first 4 games does anyone really think Ange is tactically savvy enough to make Top 4 and win a trophy.... I don't ! & I like Ange (but he is what he is & he aint changing)

Ange was hired to play more attractive football, calm the restless natives and change the sentiment around the club that we had returned this "To dare is to do" bollix that the club like to market. Its easier to raise prices/ attractive to corp sponsors etc if we are putting on an entertaining show

I mean we easily could have gotten top 4 last season so I don't really see why he's incapable of doing it

----------------------------------------------------------------------Coulda, woulda , shoulda... clearly not easy, coz we came 5th after being top after a quarter of the season.

Too many excuses, not enough accountability.... been plaguing Spurs for years.

Like i said, I like Ange, talks a good game, plays fun chaotic football but this is the big boy league... Not Scotland/ Japan

so you think he should be sacked then? no point him being here if he can't get top 4

I think even if Ange won against Leicester then against Everton, he would still be under immense pressure from a section of our fans (particularly here on JA606) if he then lost to Newcastle and Arsenal. It's the nature of the modern day fan

I think with his.....

I normally win trophies in my second season statement he's bought the pressure on himself.

And it might be on top if we lose to the gooners and get another tonking at Newcastle.....

We.could have....but we lost form in part from shooting ourselves in the foot again and never really recovered and the standard of dropping daft points.

If we don't beat Everton then the pressure continues to mount on Ange.

We need to show we are progressing as a club and the signs for this season so far wouldn't look great would they?

Obviously I'd give him more than a handful of games but if after, let's say 10, we're struggling somewhere in mid-table, not close to the top 4 then it's probably a question of 'when' rather than 'if' he gets the boot. Both Jose and AVB were booted out while in 7th position without having achieved top 4 the season before.

Nobody expects instant success with long term projects but there has to at least be a steady progression. There's instead been a regression since the first 10 games and we aren't just talking a few games, it's been well over half a season since that time and the start of another one.

He should be under a lot of pressure anyway with all the money that's been spent. Admittedly it's not net spend, but consider this; as much money has been splashed out in just these 3 transfer windows with him than in the 11 transfer windows with Poch.

Score more than you thought process without thinking too hard about defending.

But, their wingers bombed forward and crossed, ours stop, turn, cut back (fall over in BJ's case) and pass back.

We even put Werner on the right to clog everything up even more lol

Personally i am bored, completely disinterested in watching us play. We look like school children following the ball. In the same way most were by Jose.

As for Everton if they are smart they commit to long balls and a runner. Our defensive line was shambolic against a toothless Leicester you coul drive a bus between VDV and romero, it will be the same against a toothless Everton. Commit to set pieces and they potentially get a result.

We can play a high line by the way, look at the beautiful way Brighton are playing. Load of new personnel in there aswell off the pitch and on it. We play with no defensive plan like a kitchen sieve.

Aussie Ardilles has no clue and i struggle to understand how or why people defend him like he is the messiah.

Find it hard to disagree with this. watching Spurs is like watching an Under 11s... Theres just zero tactical nous..... I cant imagine anyone worries about playing us. Even during our good start last season there were some pretty jammy last min wins.. Sheff United & Liverpool spring to mind.

I bet Dyche fancies his chances of a 1-0 away win on sat... sit deep, defend properly hit us on the break or with a set piece..... I imagine we'll have 65-70% possession but very much doubt we'll hammer them 4-0.... We have lots of good players but are tactics are ideological nonsense..... Unsuitable for the worlds hardest league
