Read this morning that rangers net spend is higher than ours again-not sure on the veracity of that or how numbers were calculated-but the comment was about one team spending money they don’t have, and one team not wanting to spend the money they do have.

I still say Taylor gets a rough ride by the fans. He's a decent player
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed. Decent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm maybe going to have to recalibrate an understanding of decent here?
He might be our level but decent yet getting a chasing in the CL is a bit schizo. SPFL teams target him FFS.
He has his attributes but after all the new contracts dished out in the last year and he hasn't been one is pretty telling assuming he is not the stumbling block? It may yet happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not just me then having difficulty with the concept of Taylor as "decent". Decent at what exactly? It's not tackling, heading, positional awareness, passing, pace, energy, or attacking threat. Decent at not being Bernabei? Decent for an ex-Killie player? Decent craic in the dressing room? As has been said, every single team we play targets his position, launching long diagonals to the back post for the inevitable free header ... or simple balls into the channel to release a runner, as GT is towing a caravan jogging back (admittedly that's how he's being asked to play at times). Of course, maybe finally having some competition for his place will prompt an improvement.
I’m not optimistic that GT can improve to the level we need. Hope I’m wrong but so just don’t see it.
He’s been a bit of a whipping boy which is unfair when he’s playing to instruction. Not his fault. Even Scales has managed a few Motm incl CL iirc?

Positionally, when we cough up possession while attacking, that's a fair comment. BUT is he playing to instructions when he's 5 yards from his man on every ball into our box, and he doesn't even bother trying to contest anything in the air? That's the Groundhog Day failing I have a real problem with ... every single game, no matter how pash the opposition.

Mark Hately thinks you should sign Ivan Toney.
Can't fathom how that dimwit was allowed to commentate on games of football.
mind scott booth as well, awful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of which. Has Kenny Miller been relieved of his duties by Sky? Joining Andy Walker on the naughty spot?
I miss his objective analytical insights 😉
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wasn't he getting a gig with Deila in Abu Dhabi?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheers Silver 👍🏼 I did not know that.
I see the little weasel has popped up in the paper this morning … with his objective analysis … Phew 😉
Seems we're dead set on getting as little value for Hagi as possible. If he's willing to renegotiate his contract to reduce/remove the wage rise that would trigger, I really don't understand why we don't at least have him around the first team. Bizarre situation but unsurprised to find ourselves in it.
We had chance to sign Toney a few years ago but didn’t because he would’ve been backup
Hagi was angling for a move earlier in summer. If he doesn’t get a move it’s on him and whatever he is demanding. He’s known situation for months.
