Side question - does everyone truly believe that we can achieve real success under Levy? I don’t mean the odd League Cup run, I mean consistently challenging at the top and then using that extra revenue to do what Arsenal have done?
That’s why I’m so downbeat on things because I’ve come to realise it just won’t happen under ENIC. The hide intentions of greed behind ‘sustainability’, they hide cheaper outlays behind ‘data-driven recruitment’. It’s all a lie. All of it. Even today we’ve just learnt that we’re one of only 3 clubs in favour of not putting a cap on European ticket prices. Every step of the way, they want to rinse the fans and whilst doing so, they trim the wage bill. They expect us to pay without committing to anything financially themselves. They expect us to show ambition without showing a shred of it themselves. I just think it’s all so bleak now. It’s why I’m never majorly up when we win but never really down when we lose. I’ve accepted that until they sell up, we’re in this purgatorial state.

Definitely Spurtle. 15 games then yeah? I mean we could debate sacking the manager after every 3 but it seems a bit short-sighted
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm certainly not advocating sacking after 3 games. I want to see how we deal with this next lot of games, which I think we can admit is going to be a test.
If after 7 games for example, we have 5 or 6 points and 3 or 4 losses then the defence of Ange wears thinner.
I wouldn't say sack him but he is definitely not the manager some hope or think he is. Is is extremely naive and won't budge, which loses us points alot of the time. We aren't a serious team, I feel we've lost that character we had when he first joined and, if anything, have become worse as a footballing side. We defend worse than iv seen us in years and considering it's meant to be an attacking philosophy I feel we are pretty toothless and almost bordering on boring in attack.
We may not have the best squad, but it's certainly better than we are seeing now. We haven't played well for about 20 games now (except the odd game).
I feel it is make it break now. Big 2 months coming up where Ange had to prove his worth. Otherwise, I'd say goodbye.

No. Tottenham Hotspur have had 14 permanent managers since enic took ownership of the club in 2001.
That's approx a new coach every 20 months. That's silly and smacks of no long term strategy. Maybe we need to back the current coach and be patient.
I have faith that the club are doing everything they can🙏
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’ve been patient.
He needs to do better or f*ck off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please tell me who you want to replace Ange with?
It's obvious you've never liked him and wanted him gone from day one.
Twelve months isn't that long in the bigger scheme of things. And the new coach and recruitment system is very new.
Tottenham's failure on the pitch is down to a club that doesn't want to do things properly and steadily. Levy is clueless from a football perspective. We've chopped and changed for 23yrs constantly. From one manager to the next.
It's almost bi polar in behaviour.
Always find the 'plan B' argument hilarious.
Most people can't articulate what a plan B would be other than 'hit it facking long'.
Ange makes tactical and personnel tweaks much as any other manager does. It isn't a complete philosophy change, same with Klopp, Pep, Arteta, Slot, ETH, Conte etc etc

Unfortunately this. IMO is the merely the end result of lack of conviction in a strategy to win. DoF, no DoF. Patience and attacking football with gradual growth, win now with pragmatic football and expensive managers.
I don't doubt that Levy is trying but he's at the point he needs to step away almost entirely. Clearly the right thing to do is be patient. Make a long term plan ala Brighton and stick to it. But Levy's painted himself into this corner we're tired of waiting for him to get it right.
Also, just on ja606 itself. There's a strange dynamic on this board where you can't be ok with the manager and our signings without apparently being in a clique or a Levy fanboy. That's before you get into the inevitable Poch boners every time we don't win every game. We all want to win games, we all want all the big money exciting signings all the time.
I suggest we can agree that we all want to support the club and that constantly chitting on everything because we haven't won a trophy isn't constructive. That we've tried Mourinho and Conte and it's awful, it's not worth watching terrible football every week to maybe win something. That we can't get Levy out by moaning so let's try and enjoy what we can and chat about what happens when it happens.

Nah, not true mate, I want him to succeed. I think he's a good guy and am grateful we have a manager who wants to play front foot football. But there have been flaws and the form has been inconsistent since a very good first 10 games.
I already said I'd be willing to give him more time. You can't want a manager out with 3 games into a new season and while it's not been great, it's not been a disaster. At least performances have improved.

Levels of enthusiasm among fans could change a lot depending on the outcome of this match. Loss = doom and gloom. Win = renewed optimism. A draw I guess would be respectable.
Big game at an important time.
Meh, past caring these days, we are not achieving anything special under these businessmen owners, they have absolutely no desire to win silverware whatsoever.

Let’s at least hope Ange has got his head around the NLD and our rivalry this season.

Thinks Spurtle is in a pickle because deep down he probably wants Ange out but can't bring himself to say it...yet.

Whether Ange stays or Ange goes, it will be a ride on the same roundabout until Levy & ENIC fack off.
