I think Casemiro can contribute if we tailor his role to maximise his abilities and mitigate his weaknesses. He can ping a good attacking pass if he receives the ball facing forward, and he can still read the game well and tackle if he doesn't have much space to cover. But ETH doesn't seem to have much interest in adapting the tactics to use Casemiro better. So I think if we see an opportunity to offload him in a way that resolves the financial conundrum of too much salary locked up in a declining player, it may be worth the short-term loss of an experienced player in a light midfield.
Especially as we have Rabiot coming in.

He was good for 4-5 months. Our best player is an exaggeration.
Get Rabbit, release the POS that is Casemiro, never really warmed to him fully. We got 70-80% out of him for most of his debut season, but he's been truly awful since. Willing to put up with Rabbit's mouthy mother just to see something decent in our midfield.
It's not an exaggeration, no one was good for the entire season. The only other player that was as good was Rashford who was also only good for a few months too.

Everyone jest but Antony in any other position other than right winger might be the best for him. He has a lot of skills which can be managed and his work rate is undeniable. He just does not have the skills of a winger
I do wonder about players like Rabiot who are free agents because, thanks to PSR, clubs aren't being as stupid about paying ridiculous wages for any remotely decent player. Players like him are going to have to accept that teams aren't willing to meet their ridiculous demands.
