It will be more of the same I suspect, Woolwich are strong defensively and good on the break, so I can see us having plenty of the ball and struggling to create. Woolwich will sit in, defend properly and wait for the gifts on the break, pretty much the standard blue print of how to beat Spurs these days. Hope I am wrong obviously.

Flying over next week and the NLD will be my first game of the season… Can’t wait !!!

I think we all know Arsenal are the better team and expect them to win. hoping the fact that Arsenal will have more of the ball will mean we could play a little deeper and if we are in a position to get a draw we take it, rather than recklessly going for the win and getting beat.

fear we lose by the odd goal but would take 1-1 now

Don't think Araenal will dominate the ball, they are happy to defend and break and do it well.

Our press needs to be spot on. Also I want to see niggly little fouls edge of their area, stopping the break away at source.

Compared to last season I think we willbe far fresher an more intense. Last season it was the end of the season, we're in really bad form, missing players. I expect / hope for something more like the away game where we took it to them and caused them lots of problems.

I am hopeful on this one but need to avoid poor mistakes. Last season it was 2 corners and a counter. They will test us they are quality but I have a good feeling. A gut feeling

It's both ironic and Spursy that when we tried this approach under Mourinho and Conte we were still sh*t.

Do you think Ange is a niggly fouls to break up the opposition's momentum kind of guy? I suspect he's too honest and decent for that kind of thing but most successful teams use this tactic.

These kind of fouls are deserving of bookings and the refs will have no hesitation of pulling out the yellow card for our players, we are not Varpool who do exactly this and are let off with clear yellow cards.

Not very hopeful, are we?

I think it all boils down to Levy's purchasing strategy (or lack thereof). We bought a bunch of green youngsters who are now expected to play one of the best teams in the league.
Is Bentancur fit to play?
How about VDV?

The whole point of this approach is to commit fouls that aren't deserving of a yellow card, this is why it works and why it's so hard to police.

As I said before, not many Spurs posters on here are hopeful of anything from this match.
Now tell me....why is that?

Because you are all negative miserable bastads?

Personally I cannot wait for this game. Think we will be really up for it, willing to take it to them in front of a noisy and expectant home crowd. Really buzzing for this game. Gooonas are gonna be nervous. Already dropped silly points, playing catchup with City, missing 2 or 3 players.

If we play badly and lose then I will be miserable.....no point being miserable now though although I can see that is the default setting of many on here.

Don't think we will be nervous at all our away record is rock solid and it's so early in the season whatever happens. If anyone is going to be nervous I would imagine it will be your fans every time we get a corner, a lot of hiding behind the sofa I think.

Odegaard (if he’s out) and Rice being out are significant.

Merino though? Has he even played for you?

All we know is Odegaard went off he's not been ruled out yet. Even if he is Arteta is gonna have to start trusting his squad not ideal to drop the likes of Nwaneri into a game like this but if he's got the talent we think he has then now is the time he announces himself.

No he wasn’t, he hobbled off the pitch with arms over the physios shoulders. He was putting some weight on the ankle.

We’re sweating on Solanke, VDV and Richarlison.

Arsenal have had 2 seasons with a lot of luck on the injury front with very few key players missing for lengthy time periods. There wasn’t a chance that could continue like it was. Spurs by comparison last season lost VDV, Romero, Udogie and Maddison in the same game whilst we were top of the league. We had Bentancur out for ages, our only striker Richy out and Son away on international duty when no other Prem player of that calibre was. Our starting back 4 against Wolves last season (the game after Chelsea) was Porro, Dier, Davies and Royal playing at left back.

Yes, thank you Castor. I’m aware of the purpose of a squad.

My question, which you didn’t answer, was about Merino.

A new signing that would have started in our first 11.
