Decent 'show' put together complete with the VAR dialogue. A step forward for the fans albeit way after the events.

https://youtu.be/SnZ2a7rmglE
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've just watched this mate, it is a good show, and Wullie comes across as quite competent

Something he said stands out;

"VAR is not there to re-referee the match"

What's VAR there for then? I think that's a mental comment from him, considering everything else seems logical.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
cos VAR dont decide anything , they can inform the ref in the game what they have seen and the ref then looks at it to decide, the only decisions that VAR make is for offsides?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I take it VAR is different from the EPL then?

Dis VAR not directly rule out the late goal by Bournemouth v Newcastle the other week for handball?

I dont think I have ever seen that happen in scotland. Maybe they have a slightly different approach to VAR to try and speed the whole process up?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
each country has their own version and protocols yeah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If I heard right, it's because the EPL have paid the extra £1.3M for the automatic version of VAR..?

Going back to the original point 'VAR isn't to re-referee the match"

This is fvcking mental. The VAR is there to assist the referee I making the right calls. If the VAR can see a rule breach and the ref can't see it, surely to fvck the VAR asks the Ref to go to the screen or tells the Ref it was a foul/yellow/red card?

The example from the Rangers vs Ross Co match - Rangers boy brought the opposition player down from the back, no ball contact - definite yellow card. And the ref just played on because he couldn't see the no ball contact and just 'assumed' the Rangers player got the ball - Rangers scored about four passes later.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no the VAR tells the ref to look at the incident again and proceed with how the ref see fit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Ref missed the foul and VAR did fvck all about it.

Farce.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what goal we talking about and you have zero idea of what conversation was had between the ref and VAR
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The VAR audio was on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what goal we talking about and what link you using to hear this audio

Wasn't the VAR conversation part of the Collum show?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
cheers .... @ Zico its all explained on that show.

it was no where near 4 passes later, it was a complete different phase of play, there was most definitely a conversation between the ref and VAR.

I think Collum said they were going to have a 'coaching session' about the tackle that was missed.

I can imagine at least one person will be absolutely creaming himself that people are calling it the “Willie Collum show” 🤣

Mission accomplished!

We should still be beating the rest in the league.
------------------------------------------------------------------

We absolutely should be beating the rest in the league, whether we will do it is an entirely different question.

It was a minor miracle that we somehow got ourselves into a position to win the league last year, particularly with the injuries we had. But ultimately we failed. And we failed quite spectacularly in the end. It was worrying to see.

I think from what we have seen so far this season is that Celtic have kicked on and we are scrambling around trying to mould a team out of what we have.

The 'rebuild' can only be considered massively underwhelming. It was absolutely time to move on from Lundstrum, Goldson, Barisic etc (and Tavs!). However we have been shopping in Poundland all summer and there are still huge gaps in quality in the squad.

The OF game was always going to be a tough ask - away with no fans against a celtic team that are flying domestically. But lets be honest - it was worryingly easy for Celtic and it will take a massive improvement from Rangers to muster any sort of a fight.

And lets not forget we had to change manager last season to get us out of our malaise. We just gave Clement an extended contract so its safe to say hes going to be here for a while.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And you're fat.

Thanks fvck the internationals are over. Total waste of time and money. And we were beginning to fly. Hope there's no break in momentum there just to allow a gang of farmers a couple of days out to follow a jake and his dull team.

=======

something they often overlook imo.

what will the team be this week?
how will we do in europe?
are we the people?

u never hear them admit to being so fat and having a serious discussion about how to resolve such fatness.

They don't want to change.

Even when that change is factually accurate.

Speaking of which, going to a Scottish pub in Ottawa today for lunch. Woman from Motherwell started her business about thirty years ago, done a great job. Decent pint of Guinness and the haggis fritters are awesome

I assume the AAFC are less picky than the USDA / FDA guys about offal or is it fake haggis?

That aside haggis fritters is way better rhyming slang than the gary glitters!

Its all genuine imported good stuff. I had the Scotch pie As far as getting Haggis into the States, all you have to do is stuff it down the barrel of an AR16 and they just wave you through
