Not seen enough of Southampton to know what their midfield is like but if it has lots of energy in it we could be in big trouble here.
Subs: Bayındır, Evans, Maguire, Casemiro, Collyer, Ugarte, Antony, Garnacho, Wheatley
Hope I’m wrong here but I’m really worried about Eriksen in midfield. It sort of shows ETH is learning nothing.
Glad Amad is starting though. Garnacho’s all round play has been atrocious so far.
Good to see Rashford starting
Simply can’t afford to lose this, 3 losses in 4 and Erik would be dead meat, you’d think

Should’ve been facked off after the Liverpool game
Erikson starting for us at this stage is diabolical, Southampton won't need great midfielders today just some with some energy and we'll be in trouble
I watched Saints at Newcastle a few weeks back and Saints absolutely dominated them but after Newcastle went a man down somehow they (Saints) became toothless. Very weird.

He's been no worse than Garnacho really. And if we had forwards who could finish he'd have 2/3 assists already this season.

This season in 3 games maybe, how bout over the last 18months

He’s not been good enough either but he’s been slightly better than Garnacho.

Not a great deal in it. Garnacho had some good spells last season and some where he struggled.
This isn't about individuals. The system and tactics just aren't there. Been obvious for a while. We play like a team of strangers.

Can't argue with that, 2 years in and still absolutely no sense of style just a mish mash of players sent out to do something
Lmao. ETH is trying to lose. How much is his severance. Starting Eriksen?
I have no issue with Eriksen starting. He played twice for Denmark in the break and his last game was on Sunday. So he should be sharp and quite fresh.
Ugarte had a lot of travelling and only came back on Thursday.
Casemiro was poor last game so can have no complaints.
If you have a senior pro like Eriksen in the squad, and he doesn't get game time when others are out of form, then it doesn't bode well if you need him in a crisis.

Garnacho gets blown up far too move. A good talent but he should be no more than a squad player right now. He’s been used far too often.
Eriksen on the ball isn't my concern. I think physically he struggles with the pace of PL football even more than Cas does.
International football is often played at a snails pace compared to the PL.

I get what you’re saying but Mainoo and Eriksen in a 2 is madness imo. Too lightweight. If it was those either side of Casemiro or Ugarte I’d be far more accepting.
We never should have sold Fred

Quite rightly too, for a new season start. If that happened.
Lets hope it doesnt come to this. Cmon United.
Apparently this 18 year old kid who is playing AM role for Saints today is meant to be a bit of a talent. That doesn't bode well for us without a DM. 😂
