Why did Martinez go off btw?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Back injury
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Least it ain’t his foot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, but his backbone's connected to his hip bone, and his hip bone's connected to his thigh bone, and his thigh bone's connected to his knee bone, and his knee bone's connected to his ankle bone, which is connected to his foot bone

Didn’t look great for Mazraoui there.

I just saw the pictures. Hopefully it's bad case of cramp and no more.

Hopefully. He’s become very important right away. With his injury record it’s inevitable it will happen but maybe save it for when Shaw is fit.

Can someone sum up the game as I was at the pub watching the AFL finals. Was it as easy as the score suggests?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They had a penalty to go one up around the half hour. Onana saved it and the rebound. That was the Saints last attempt at goal.
It was the most comfortable I have seen us for a good year or so.

Yeah. If I'm honest I'm a little disappointed we didn't win by more. We won't have a second half away from home as easy as that again this season.
The penalty miss decided the game. We woke up and they fell apart. Comfortable win but this is a team who is going straight back down. Next week will be a lot tougher at Palace.

👍
Also shout out to onana, not a stretch to say he won us that sith his own save and was really solid
Doesn't look good for Mazraoui then if it's hamstring related which people are saying.
Unless Shaw is back for Palace then that's just Dalot available out of our 4 main fullbacks. Martinez playing left back most likely.
The players who caught my eye today were Amad and Zirkers.

Amad was superb first half. Second half he wasted quite a few promising attacks trying to find the angle or killer ball. It happens though. I thought we lacked a bit of ruthlessness in that second half.
Good win.
No injury for Matthijs de Ligt: “It was only a cramp”, he has confirmed.

I think both De Ligt and Martinez were precautions. Mazraoui looks the bad one. Hamstring possibly.
