Shocking signing. He was a standout championship player for Forest who did ok under Cooper in his first PL season from memory, absolutely nothing to justify £40m - Forest must have been in hysterics

" In fact, when he is on the pitch, we might as well be playing with 19 men."

Wow, that's some player!

Was never keen on this signing

If you believe the talk when we signed him that Ange really wanted him then that is an issue that our manager has poor taste in players

BJ might do well at Celtic tbf

You are all being too harsh. Too early to judge him. He clearly has lots of potential and has been unlucky at times. He always looks dangerous as a substitute. I think he will turn out to be good signing

I reckon even if we did have 19 men we’d still struggle to score and concede form a set piece

Brennan Johnson is the least of Spurs worries. Biggest worries are a goalkeeper that looks like jelly at every set piece corner. A world cup winning CB that cannot jump off the ground for balls coming into the box to save his life. He makes cement boots look competent as a CB. A midfield pair of Maddison and Bentancur that are weak and quickly fade from games, spend all their time just putting the ball sideways, and a captain Son, that is clearly past his best. Oh and a manager that clearly does not see any problems at all.

I called Son last year as well. Said we should get what we could for him in the close season. I was vilified for knowing nothing.

Gents, I would rather be proved wrong on all these things.

My next one, Ange is a failed experiment, which I was all for. I got that one wrong. Time to cut losses as there is no point in giving him time to learn from mistakes as he has said himself that he will not change anything. So why wait.

Just look at the standard definition of insanity

Thing is, just watch how brennan johnson plays. He can’t beat a man. He has no technique, just pace (and is he even that fast?).

He literally runs towards the defender, shifts it to the right, and then hits it. He hits it KNOWING the defender is still there, so it is immediately blocked. He does this because he has absolutely 0 skill and can still get a pat on the back for “attempting” the cross/shot.

As Ex says, his name is just Brennan cos he aint got a Johnson

He is a good sub

Guy got abused on social media after the game apparently. Fans man

Johnson is an ok player. For the style we play and where we want to be, he's not good enough to be in our starting 11. As an impact sub against tiring legs I think he has a role to play for us, but I cannot understand him consistently being in our starting 11.

Out of order to do abuse someone like that.

How is he a good sub though? He has 0 technique, what is he good at?

Ange won't last, he is to stubborn. And Son is clearly not what he was. The question though does Ange have the balls to bench him?

Came off the bench vs Newcastle and had twice the impact he does when starting

I don’t disagree that he doesn’t have an outstanding attribute.

Just seen that hes deactivated his account.

Tbf I do feel for him, not his fault he cost £40m+ and gets picked every match.

should have signed two top wingers for either side

except we signed odobert who could end up good but doesnt improve the team now, kept werner which is laughable and relying too much on Son again

the money spent on Johnson as well as the window we just had is kicking the can down the road again and not elevating the team despite the money spent

incredibly frustrating

This is so true.

Time and time again a manager picks a player he has bought to prove himself right to the detriment of the team. It is not the players fault he keeps getting picked. It is just the same when Southgate kept picking Maguire. Clearly not good enough and getting vilified but the manager keeps setting him up to be shot at.

I said after his first 3 games he was one of the worst signings in our history , he looked dead nervous and you could see he was struggling with the expectations but many were saying they did not see that and he had a high ceiling , blah blah.

He is a good player but way below what we need. When you look at our rivals and what they have to offer it truely is embarrassing with our pitiful offering. Come on..Werner , Bj and Odobert. Will BJ score goals and assist ..Off course he will but so will Oli frigging McBurnie but do I want him in our side.?

However, it’s just game of football and for BJ to be abused over a flipping football game by idiots online. 😡😡😡
Not a fan by any means but he has my full backing whilst he puts on that shirt

Johnson is not the least of our worries at all, we have had a serious issue with creating and scoring goals since the 2nd half of last season, ok we conceded a goal yesterday but we should have scored at least 2 which would have been enough to win the game then the whole narrative changes, we do not have the creativity in the team, Maddison a huge let down, and then the clinical finishing, Solanke still early days but Johnson and Son are big issues with the way we play

Personally think we have the base of a very good team.
If only we were clinical up top where creativity, invention and cuteness on the ball is severely lacking. . We easily should be sitting on 10 points imo. A draw yesterday would have been a fairer result.

Yes that's what's missing but instead of investing in top class forwards Levy buys Kids for the future and then will sack the manager, can see it a mile off

I don't think anyone expected a world beater when we got him. You only have to look at his stats beforehand. Unlike Solanke where there's at least one good season to base a signing on, all there was with BJ was youth and the idea of potential with his pace on the wing.

You only have to look at say Harvey Barnes for Newcastle yesterday. I could never picture BJ scoring a goal like that. It looks to always be scruffy connection shots and tap ins if he is to score. There is something lacking in his ability.

Johnson has no tricks or standout skill… just pace… that’s it, in a nutshell

Impact sub at best

Odobert is the better option…

Need upgrades on Werner & Johnson… next summer.
