I cared at the time, but years later in hindsight I really couldn’t give fook now. Matter of time until we will be Scotland’s most successful club trophy wise, league win wise having recently gone ahead in head to heads. When we get there it will be fun seeing Rangers getting the painters in to redecorate the tunnel at Ibrox with all that Worlds most successful club nonsense
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"I cared at the time , but cos we didnt do it I decided that i didnt really care" honest
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were we all wanting 10? Yes 100%
Were we annoyed at not getting it? Yes 100%
Does it consume our lives since? No. Mainly because since then we have won the double twice and a treble.
As Silver said getting 10 would have been a great wum to sing about but if you could guarantee we would win 9 titles each decade and you win 1 then I will continue to take it.
We continue to be the dominant and best team and you are all buzzing that you stopped 10 again but don't improve after
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn’t improve?
I think it’s fair to say it’s been a horrendous and very costly collapse since then, with no signs of it changing.
Supposedly a £10m black hole every year that had to be stopped; so they went and committed to spend more. Mental bastirts

Who said I was buzzing, I said King came into stop 10 which we did. It was Celtic fans that then wanted to take that argument into "we didnt care about 10" I just said plenty on here did, plenty thought going into that season it was the biggest season of the clubs history and the biggest of their lifetime.

I was gutted at not getting Terry Munro. It would have great to achieve that. We're on our way to ten again though.
And being the most successful club in the world is compensation enough.

Nonsense
he's a deranged lunatic.
south africa, with their "business" practices found him questionable, that speaks volumes
as for the ten, it stung, but thankfully i wasn't really invested in that season, rangers needed a miracle and they got one.

They are just continuing to roll the dice. Keep spending and hope to strike it lucky that they get a. a big sale for a cheap player or b Champions League money
Champions League money looks to be a long shot for even us for the coming seasons after this one so Rangers really are hanging their hat on copying our trading model.
Their problem is they either don't sell at the right time or don't market their players right. Morelos for example was a shambles of a player but for that season he was super fit, banging in goals and on top form he should have been sold (maybe not to the unnamed club in the unnamed universe). Club legend Tav not the nest defensively but would have made some decent money with his goal return. Now he is getting to an age that no club is spending big on him.

yeah since he left we have regressed. He set us up then handing over the reigns, the people following didnt capitalise on that success (by selling the players we could). That doesnt mean King would have decided to sell them, but he set up the whole Gerrard team and overseen all the new background changes before handing the role over. What he set up went on to win the league.
None of that means much in terms of the future, our goals will be different and we have no idea what his objective would be if he was to come in.

Surely that was down to appeasing Gerrard who when he didn’t get his own way, scarpered south at the first calling despite the fact that just handing over more and more money was exactly the wrong thing to do?
From there it’s the proverbial hamster wheel of hiring managers; backing them and then firing them. Rinse and repeat. And now that has been stopped by giving an unproven new manager a massive contract plus an extension which btw, I firmly believe was his way of securing his financial future in exchange for hanging around.
To progress; any had; decent players you may have uncovered in this last window, will have to be sold to start the player trading model. Hang on to them and you miss the boat again.

We don't have many options, he's probably better placed than Park if he could get the backing which I doubt.
He's right that the club need more investment from outwith, the guys that are there at the moment haven't done a good job and the well appears to be dry.
I'd be tempted to support him mainly cause he's teasing us with some links to Saudi investment though
As ever any of these cants can say one thing and do another, I think at least his intentions are good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont think you do need more investment at all.
I think you need to adapt a different business model that is more sustainable.

Rangers kept morelos to stop the 10, which they did, but I wonder if stopping the 10 was more important to them or stopping celtics dominance?
Rather than go all out to stop the 10 and then set themselves back years. Would they have rather implemented a player trading model a possibly be competing with us by now or was stopping the 10 worth it?

who in scotland was proven?
The team did collpse yes, but he also put the team in a position where we looked hopeless (12-14 point gap was it?) to challenging for a treble.
He needs to learn in regards to the OF agreed, he has had plenty of OF games where it has been close, but ultimately results are what matters and something he defo needs to rectifiy.
He is currently having to reshape and restructure the team. both in balance of squad, financially and the age.
We have now dramatically cut the wage bill and lowered the age of our squad. Now he needs to get that team performing better, gelling and then try to move them forward over the next 2 seasons.
improving the team to stop 10 wasnt what caused our current troubles, Not selling the players we should have after winning it and investing wisely in both staff and players on the back of that and CL money was where we went wrong.
The money wasted during Beale era was a shambles

yeah since he left we have regressed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely that was down to appeasing Gerrard who when he didn’t get his own way, scarpered south at the first calling despite the fact that just handing over more and more money was exactly the wrong thing to do?
From there it’s the proverbial hamster wheel of hiring managers; backing them and then firing them. Rinse and repeat. And now that has been stopped by giving an unproven new manager a massive contract plus an extension which btw, I firmly believe was his way of securing his financial future in exchange for hanging around.
To progress; any had; decent players you may have uncovered in this last window, will have to be sold to start the player trading model. Hang on to them and you miss the boat again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes he left cos he felt his part was, done. He set up the club to having sellable assets again, won the league and secured champ league entry. How that was handled after he left was the downfall.
Unproven? Clement has 3 title wins under his belt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I meant in Scotland. And on that, didn’t he preside over the collapse at the end of last season? He also hasn’t come close to laying a glove on us either
----------------------------------------------------------------------
who in scotland was proven?
The team did collpse yes, but he also put the team in a position where we looked hopeless (12-14 point gap was it?) to challenging for a treble.
He needs to learn in regards to the OF agreed, he has had plenty of OF games where it has been close, but ultimately results are what matters and something he defo needs to rectifiy.
He is currently having to reshape and restructure the team. both in balance of squad, financially and the age.
We have now dramatically cut the wage bill and lowered the age of our squad. Now he needs to get that team performing better, gelling and then try to move them forward over the next 2 seasons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s my point. To get the sale model up and working, he’ll have to move the good ones on at a profit almost immediately.

Some, maybe a majority? And sure, something to sing about until it went tats up. Fans of all clubs sing about all sorts of scheite - doesn't mean much.
Said long before 8 on here that the ten, whilst a nice wum like big ears is, that it was not the be all and end all. When ten was gone we still had the record of 2x nines.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
'totally didnt care about the 10IAR'
'2x9IAR though - now thats where its really at'
You either care about totting up the consecutive titles or you dont.
Experts at buttering their bread on both sides....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So by your logic Rangers fans are delighted at stopping 10 and winning next to nothing since
You either care about only winning just 1 title every decade or you don't

Who said I was buzzing, I said King came into stop 10 which we did. It was Celtic fans that then wanted to take that argument into "we didnt care about 10" I just said plenty on here did, plenty thought going into that season it was the biggest season of the clubs history and the biggest of their lifetime.

Champions League money looks to be a long shot for even us for the coming seasons after this one so Rangers really are hanging their hat on copying our trading model.

Some, maybe a majority? And sure, something to sing about until it went tats up. Fans of all clubs sing about all sorts of scheite - doesn't mean much.
Said long before 8 on here that the ten, whilst a nice wum like big ears is, that it was not the be all and end all. When ten was gone we still had the record of 2x nines.

'totally didnt care about the 10IAR'
'2x9IAR though - now thats where its really at'
You either care about totting up the consecutive titles or you dont.

I meant it was a pretty damned decent consolation.

yes he left cos he felt his part was, done.

* He left because he knew exactly what was coming down from the takeover panel & could not continue.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah since he left we have regressed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s my point. To get the sale model up and working, he’ll have to move the good ones on at a profit almost immediately.

So by your logic Rangers fans are delighted at stopping 10 and winning next to nothing since
You either care about only winning just 1 title every decade or you don't
