Make the quarters I agree, but winning it being easy is a stretch:
Roma
Lazio
Ajax
Real Sociedad
Bilbao (final is in their drum)
Frankfurt
Spurs
United
Porto
All very decent sides that can beat each other - you lot had almighty problems with Porto only last season, Frankfurt have won it recently as have United, Ajax have been in the final. Bilbao will have home advantage in the final.
Teams with stupid high lines that can't defend set pieces don't win anything at the top level.
Spurs are an all out attack team with non of the upside and all the downside.
The thing is, there is a nagging feeling at Spurs that we could have won a couple of pots over the last decade if we had taken certain comps seriously. The most egregious was sacking Jose 6 days before a league cup final - which Levy did to avoid triggering a contract extension.
Poch went close a few times - League cup final and CL final as well as 2 FA cup semis. Redknapp had us in the League cup final the season after we won it last, losing to Fergies United on pens. We also lost to Portsmouth embarrassingly in an FA cup semi - which was glossed over by us qualifying for the CL for the first time that season.
We’ve nearly always treated the Europa with complete disdain - rather frustratingly. UEFA made the point to take the pizz out of us once when we finished 3rd in a CL group and slipped back into it.
The other pot that was there for the taking was the Conference league - now admittedly it is complete schitt and no one cares, but ourselves and Roma were the two big sides in it, they had Jose and we had Conte. Unfortunately, we couldn’t play our final league phase game due to COVID, forfeited and were as a result knocked out. Never sat well with me that, but again it was glossed over because we pipped Arsenal for the CL spot at the end of the season.
So I welcome Ange putting pressure on himself and us in this instance - the words would indicate we might actually try to win one of these “lesser” comps - however I actions are louder than words and he rotated us out of the league cup last season when we had no Europe - so all eyes on our line up on Wednesday.

ETH has had United in 3 of the last 4 domestic cup finals, winning 2 of them. Just goes to show it’s all about attitude and luck on the day. United shockingly let a 3 goal lead slip against Coventry with 20 mins to go, but then a month later were miles better than City who looked like they had been on the pizz.
We can make sure our attitude is right in these games - and then need to hope we get the bit of luck - but attitude has been a huge problem in domestic cup games ever since Poch

Why would you welcome pressure? Managers always try and lessen pressure on players as usually they perform better when they feel relaxed. Ange is either a bit basic and borrowed Jamie O'Hara's or Paul Merson's brain for the weekend OR he wants out and is trying to build pressure on himself so he is sacked. Conte did the same if i recall but slightly more subtly.
way we have been playing theres a fair few teams in the europa that could get the better of us home or away
i agree, the comments are unnecessary at a team who have struggled to win a trophy with a better team and steady style of play than he currently has
wouldnt be surprised if its just him proving his stubbornness for the naive tactics in the prem have worked elsewhere so why would he change
certainly a big jump up in what he has been used to previously.

There is a malaise at Spurs, Ange mentioned it last season after the City game - the problem was he targeted the wrong people.
When push comes to shove are players fall over - Arsenal are very similar when the finishing line is in sight, you get a bit collapsy - getting pipped by us for a CL spot, Saliba getting injured and suddenly you can’t beat Southampton or Forest.
Conte exposed a similar frailty, spoke a truth we all know about the club and Ange is backing it up - we’re not a side mentally geared up to win and that comes from the very top.
Where Ange went wrong was to moan at the fans who didn’t want Arsenal winning the title - it’s the club that drove us to that mentality, rotating out of cups, deprioritising certain comps in favour of CL football - we’re fed up with qualifying for the faaacking thing and then not using it to leverage better players and winning the odd trophy.
A couple of league cup wins in the last decade and Spurs would be a much more content and patient club - but Levy doesn’t get that. Instead it’s £30 to watch us at home to Qarabag on a Thursday night and he will wonder why he couldn’t fill it.

They obviously won't win the league but there's no reason they can't win any of the other 3 they're in. Worse teams than them have done so over the years.
It's a bit strange for a manager to be so certain about it but I suspect he's just trying to change the mentality of the players - the whole "Spursy" thing no doubt gets to them too. He'll be memed to high heaven if they end up spotless again but he probably doesn't care.

The thing about “Spursy” is that it became a thing in the Enic era and only exists due to us going so long without a trophy. Loads of teams have choked over the years - even Fergies United when 8 points clear of City with 6 games to go. Arsenal have done it a couple of times under Arteta now. Even Pep losing the cup final to United last season.
He is battling a tide at Spurs though - we massively lack winning characters outside the playing staff. There is faaaack all at board level driving us towards trophies, it’s all about the benjamins
Ang is obv confident in his own abilities, and I believe he pointed out that at other clubs he won things in his second seasons, so he expects to do the same here.
There's obviously a bit of luck in winning cup competitions, but he's obviously trying to change the mentality of the club and players as a whole -don't just hope you can do things, but truly believe it. If it doesn't happen, he's big enough to take any stick, but I don't think it puts any extra pressure on Spurs in a bad way - it's the type of thing successful clubs need to cope with, so perhaps he is just trying to instil it.
Worse thing that happens is they don't win anything, but at least there is fire in the belly.
I don't really care about trophies yet. I just want to see progress in his second year. If we go on a serious run and finish top 3-4 I'd be happy with that as a sign we're heading in the right direction. The moment we get driven entirely by trophies alone, especially something as meaningless as the Carabao Cup, we'll lose sight of what we're trying to build. I want to see us build something to compete at the very top rather than focus on a cup anyone with a decent draw can win.
Your bread and butter, the thing that really measures how good you are, is the league. We're not even close to getting that right yet so I'd just focus on better and more consistent performing and then the trophies will come.
Europa would be prestigious enough a tournament to win as a measure of a progressing side. I'd take that in a heartbeat. The FA Cup and the League Cup can be won by anyone with a decent draw and a bit of luck.

Would take 15th plus the Europa or 10th plus the League cup right now.
Bored of finishing in CL spots then falling back again. Growing up we were THE cup side and usually nowhere in the league. I’d take finishing 10th for 10 years running if it we could win a Europa, FA cup and League cup in that spell

Our income is elite level with the stadium a money printing machine.
Our actual problem is lack of long term footballing strategy - Levy never commits and you just know he will be getting twitchy over Ange right now
