It not about 4 games..... Everyone understands there's a long way to go....... This is about a long term cultural problem..... ONE league cup in 23 years under this ownership is just bizarre.
I think Im right in saying Spurs are in the top 15 most valuable clubs in World football.... Im not suggesting we should be winning the league but something clearly aint right.
Spurs are no closer to winning anything now than we were 10 years ago.... We cant defend corners FFS
Continuity - we have none of it.
Constantly shoe horning players into a different system and expecting gold.
We swung from Poch’s slow build up and possession play, to Jose’s lowest running miles clocked up play to Nuno’s schitt, to Conte’s initially awash buckling and then god knows what the second season was, to Ange’s no one but Vic is allowed in our own half and you can’t use your head to defend corners play.
Some will say that it would be counter intuitive then to replace Ange, just starting the cycle again - but his refusal to adapt means I cannot see how we can be patient with him in the longer term.
Couple of names floating around are Silva at Fulham and Iraola at Bournemouth - could be goers for longer term projects designed to build the side up over say 5 years with a manger that is tactically flexible

Said this on the other thread but our treatment of cup comps in pursuit of CL football is why we only have one league cup in 23 years. We’ve made 5 cup finals in 23 years under Enic and won 1 and the CL final was a complete accident. The other finals were all in the league cup and often were due to favourable draws plus our managers going for it.
Our treatment of the Europa has always been appalling and we’ve had next to no luck in the FA cup for a quarter of a century combined with a penchant for weakening ourselves away to Championship sides who then stick one on us.
We shaaat all over the conference - but in all honesty that is a nothing comp, so it’s understandable
Not playing to players strengths.
We have the players for wingbacks and not a decent winger in sight.
Conte played 5 at the back with the way he set up.
Son floats around Sowanke there cm, but it won't happen.
Be successful on the pitch and everything is suddenly ok.
need to find a different balance for sure
as we dont have good wingers for this system, probably need to go back to having Maddison, Kulu, Son behind Solanke, and two screening midfielders to protect the defence, improve build up, with the full backs providing the width
either this or work on improving the wing play and not having both full backs playing in midfield at the same time, having 3 at the back in build up to protect ourselves more against the counter
Think it's quite simple really. There are four or five bigger and (generally) better teams in the Premiership
Not an easy job to leapfrog any of them, but Spurs have pretty consistently been best of the rest

Man City and Klopp era Liverpool have been the only 2 out of reach sides in the last decade. Chelsea have been intermittently. We’ve been ahead of United and Arsenal loads in that time frame.
One of the big differences for me is when one of those sides is struggling in the league, they try even harder in the cups to try and salvage something for the fans - we don’t, we rest players for the weekend and get beaten anyway - look it up, happened 3 years running in the FA cup.
The problem is that when Ange came in our set up was suited to a wing back system.
Ange has had 3 transfer windows to change that yet the squad is still suited to a wing back system, except for not having enough CB cover.
So when fans say we would have to start all over again if we change manager I disagree. There would be someone half decent out there that would get the best out of this squad.
Ange is still on the starting blocks when it comes to his philosophy and you have to ask yourself why?

Exactly what I said - city and Liverpool yes, Chelsea sporadically but United and Arsenal have finished behind us plenty and looked dog awful in the process.
We’re being caught finally by the other sides and the so called top 6 will be an 8 soon enough unless we wise up
We have a great infrastucture but is has to be perfect....
We need a good head coach that can harness young talent and we need a good scouting network similar to Brightons but it should be better than theres as we are a bigger club, bigger reach, etc ,etc.
Best training ground, best stadium, a huge fanbase one of the biggest in the country. We will never be in financial trouble with Levy at the helm.
The scouting network, youth development and club management are the issue. It links to link, it needs to intertwine and be free flowing. Our structure is so, so poor currently. We also need stability.
That being said with stability i would sack all incumbents and replace with a clear plan going forward. Davies, Ange and Lange can go with a real hard structure in place.

Said this on another thread as well - we’re crying out for Dargusin/Romero/VDV as a back 3, Porro and Udogie at WB, Bentancur/Biss with Maddison in midfield and then the 3 up top.
VDV as a sweeper as he has the pace, Romero and Dragusin stop us getting dominated aerially. Porro and Udogie give us width rather than this inverted shiete that contests the pitch. Biss gives us control of the midfield - Maddison to remember he is a good player and start creating again, someone up top to swap the clown shoes for football boots
Football is not the priority of this club. Simple really. Players don’t need to win anything, they know they are not expected too

We’re not here to be successful in footballing terms, it’s all about the Money money money
This time last season we weren't broken and were in our best form for years with the same set of players. That to me shows it isn't necessarily down to deficiencies in the personnel, although obviously the attacking options aren't the best. I do think the coaching and tactical side of our game has deteriorated in areas under Ange. I mean it can't simply be that we haven't had the start we wanted due to Romero and BJ (our 2 most blamed players) underperforming. Ange is failing to get more out of this team at the moment.

Those opening 10 games are looking more and more like an outlier though. We completely changed style and it took sides a while to work us out and we made hay whilst the sun shone.
Now everyone knows, sit back, keep it compact, play on the counter and load the box at corners. We’re far too easy to stop and we have 1 very significant weakness at the back.

I just think people were surprised at what we was doing. We did not look outstanding lets be fair Brentford could of went either way, sheff utd was lucky in the end. Liverpool well we all know about that one.
I do think there were excuses i think Chelsea ripped the confidence and heart out of us unfairly. With the red cards and injuries.
We were a bit lucky in that period but we also had a good level of confidence and a "never give up" winning mentality that we have not seen in this side since. The mentality has gone the other way if anything. I don't believe it's just down to teams working us out.
One of the things I feel is broken is the fan base.
I can understand that people are utterly frustrated and embarrassed about our trophy haul and that goes beyond ENICs tenure.
But this feeds into so many people's views and the impatience to let things play out just means that after a season of ending 5th, back into Europe, a poor start to the season and fans are talking about sacking Ange.
"Time is needed" is the last thing people want to hear as they have been here before BUT to keep going from manager to manager will see the continuation of us bobbing around in the minor places.
We have a plan, we have a process...lets see if it works, let's see if we win a cup or w. Let's see if we get UCL.
Some fans, and especially those whose contribution to the club is largely limited to social media, are caerying out a post mortem when the patient hasn't even died.
The whole club is broken, it is no longer a serious football club, the priority is no longer silverware and glory, the priority is business and increasing the value of shares.
Everything can be fixed with the removal of Levy & ENIC, I yearn for the day it happens.
