De Ligt has been absolutely outstanding again.

Strong performances from the midfield pair as well.

Zirkzee and Mazraoui (who gets a pass) have been atrocious out of possession, and I suspect Garnacho and Rashford are going to murder Zirkzee at half time.

Zirkzee had two relatively straightforward passes to make to play in both Rashford and Garnacho, who had made exactly the right runs, and he flunked them both.

Eriksen has been the biggest surprise of the season so far for me.

Looks sharp (isn’t getting caught on the ball like he was last season), positive, nearly always makes the right decisions, and is striking the ball as well as ever.

Felt to me like that had the better chances.

With Zirkzee, I had a coach who always said that if you’re horribly out of form, the best thing to do is just work harder. Run harder, press harder, get yourself involved off the ball.

Between misplacing basic basses, he’s just jogging around, and I don’t remember ever seeing a striker spend so much time with his back to the ball.

His primary role when we’re in attacking transition is to drop in, pick the ball up, and play the wide forwards in. He’s done the first bit in patchy fashion, and failed at the second.

Out of possession, he’s useless.
