With Zirkzee, I had a coach who always said that if you’re horribly out of form, the best thing to do is just work harder. Run harder, press harder, get yourself involved off the ball.

Between misplacing basic basses, he’s just jogging around, and I don’t remember ever seeing a striker spend so much time with his back to the ball.

Yes, it is clear that Zirkzee is indeed a worse version of Fellaini

I won’t be giving up on him yet. He’s a kid, new to the league, and clearly has bags of technical ability.

What he looks to me to be missing (very seriously) at the moment is focus, consistency, application, and any ideas about what he should be doing out of possession.
