Shades of Mourinho at Anfield with this line up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
đ it’s the hope that kills you
Berba: "Villa possess a lot of pace up front ......Utd needed to change things at the back but those two are very slow, they will suffer today"
Mainoo has stood out somewhat in such a poor side, and should improve under the right coaching etc. But it's hard to gauge how could he can be - once this team is playing well and it's not as dependent on him as it currently is, then we can judge better.
So much pace in the Villa attack, Maguire and Evans will really need to be on their toes. Not sure you really need to rotate your CBs as much as you would the front players. It all smacks of desperation

They are missing some good players though
Amad has been our best player so far along with Onana and Mezraoui. ETH has decided to beak his self confidence.
So much negativity ( I mean not unwarranted) watch us win 3-0
Rotating CB's ahead of an international break is a new low even for Erik. I just don't get it.
It looks like he's begging to get his P45 to me.

That’s why I hope he gets sacked tomorrow. He may not be a bad manager, but there is absolutely no logic in his decisions.

No DM away against a good team with Maguire and Evans at CB?
I don't see how it can unless Villa just have one of those days where they can't hit the target.
What a slow mf and defence....you wont cope with villa pace....good news, ten hag will probably be gone after!
Maguire and Evans masterclass incoming.

Lol.
We could be all but out of the top 4 race today after just 7 games. Absolutely pathetic even by our recent standards.
No idea how we can spend another £200m, get most of our players back and get even worse. đ

I wanted him to have the time and the support needed to build his squad. Now I can see that he’s made a terrible use of both. Starting Maguire and Jones has nothing to do with rotation ; it’s something under pressure managers do: field as many British players as you can in order to silence the media.

Maguire and Evans*
Just seen the line up, goodness gracious, self sabotage in full force, utd should look for a clause to not pay him when they sack him(not picking his best team)
This line up from Ten Hag just screams "I know I'm getting fired so I'm not going to play the majority of your signings Ineos".
I think he's gone no matter what.
It's not just Erik anymore. This is one INEOS too. They signed up for another go with this guy. You could say they sort of predicted it though by bringing in Ruud to take his job after 2 months.
Erik knew he wasn't really wanted. The players knew he wasn't either and once again it's the fans who have to suffer.
This new era won't last long with bad decisions like they showed over the summer. They should have sacked him and started a new project ahead of the season. Trying to do that now is going to cost them another £10m or so and with a season that is already in ruins.

I'd counter that with this.
I think Ineos have bought themselves some time with keeping Erik. They knew the fans would be OK with it and, if they needed to change mid season, they'd still have an element of time because no one would expect too much from an interim..
