It's not just Erik anymore. This is one INEOS too. They signed up for another go with this guy. You could say they sort of predicted it though by bringing in Ruud to take his job after 2 months.
Erik knew he wasn't really wanted. The players knew he wasn't either and once again it's the fans who have to suffer.
This new era won't last long with bad decisions like they showed over the summer. They should have sacked him and started a new project ahead of the season. Trying to do that now is going to cost them another £10m or so and with a season that is already in ruins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd counter that with this.
I think Ineos have bought themselves some time with keeping Erik. They knew the fans would be OK with it and, if they needed to change mid season, they'd still have an element of time because no one would expect too much from an interim..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Had they changed in the Summer and it had gone wrong like this then they'd have nowhere to run.

I think he's gone no matter what.

He managed him at Ajax, he's Dutch.. etc..
Highly unlikely we would have been in for de ligt if we didn't have ETH as manager. Let's be honest now.

His pay off is now reported to be £17m instead of 9m and the league season will be as good as over if we lose this.
I think it shows they haven't got a backbone personally. He was being sacked had City won that final. I have absolutely no doubt. The bottled it big time.

Southgate will work wonders with limited funds
How we play today is as important as the result IMO.
If we don't get stuck in, go for every 50/50 and leave everything out there then it's serious problems
Only thing missing is Anthony, but I guess that would have been too obvious I guess?
Build up from the back is gonna be absolutely fckin horrific today ain’t it, like painful the amount of time we see the CBs taking 4 or 5 touches then passing sideways to each other before eventually going long and losing it
Today’s game is a win-win situation. Either we beat Villa or get rid of this stubborn and resentful manager.
If we win we're then only three points behind "high flying Villa" though.
