I criticised Leeds after listening to the game on the radio but having since watched the highlights, I’m happy to temper my remarks. Quick — sometimes one-touch — passing showed the team to be a class above Cardiff. Even Bogle upped his game. Creating, then taking, chances is still a problem but the team is gelling well together.
I don't think Farke is anywhere near facing the sack, neither the owners nor Kinnear are as clued in as people on this board give them credit for and they will be quite happy with the way the way things are going.
Sack him, and replace him with who?
I get that Batty and others want him replaced but they are beginning to sound Celinoesque. We will end up with Hockaday or similar.
Next up is Coventry, who my Sky Blue supporting friend tells me are very poor at the moment (other than a good performance against Spurs in the cup). Probably as good a time to play them as any. I think we will have another three points and this Farke sacking nonsense will become a whisper.
Good article TLB.
About where I am at too. I have some concerns, some of which not of Farke's making to do with squad strengthening in several areas. The drop off at the end of last season and the games against Southampton where we seemed to get schooled tactically are probably where that main concern lies.
I do think he is a good man manager, has us set up well defensively and has good record at this level.
Like many, I'd like to see him make more agressive and earlier use of substitutions get the best out of the one good finisher we do have in Piroe. (Hopefully Joseph gets to that level too but is still contributing with assists.)
His track record across Norwich and Leeds in the Championship sees long stretches of wins (we had 9 games on trot and 13 out of 14 at one point last season). If he can replicate that, especially if we get a favourable run of fixtures, it could be decisive this time.
The inefficiency in front of goal has been an issue at Leeds for 6 years. I remember Bielsa talking about it regularly. Honestly not sure what the solution is or if there is a solution. Other teams miss chances, if these players were clinical, they be in the PL. do we over hype this because we’ve been frustrated by it for so long now?
One thing that Farke could do to improve it in the short term is start Piroe as a striker. Joseph does a lot off the ball and all round play is better than Piroe, but in majority of our games at this level, we need someone to put ball in the back of the net and will dominate possession anyway. I’d start him. 14 goals last season, didn’t start many from Jan onwards, he won us a lot of points with his goals despite not doing much else all game.
Farke isn’t going anywhere soon. I don’t like his football and if we are promoted I have concerns about how he will do the league above. But all this negativity amongst Leeds fans when we win games isn’t healthy. We are in a good position to go back up
I think Piroe showed us what the solution is - strike when you get a chance.
Had any other player been in that position you can bet your house the ball would have been pulled back for someone else to take responsibility.
Time and again we see players in a position to test the keeper and it’s infuriating when they decide to pass the ball into what is usually a crowded area.
Maybe Bamford or Joseph would have had a go but the rest of them would take the easy option and try and pass the hot potato that they see at their feet.
That’s what needs to change - along with adding some longer balls into the mix.
Farke has admitted he knows it’s a problem. Let’s see if he can see the solution.

Good comment this one.
Countless times this season Firpo has been in that very position of Piroe and never one attempted to shoot. Granted he’s not a striker but neither was Alioski who would have varied it up. Every week we try and walk the ball into the net. Look at Burnley’s winner yesterday ffs!.
Lorra, Dennis, Rob, Best, Stoopo, Kebab - good points all👍.
Ah, even mention of Alioski makes me feel nostalgic for those not-so-far-off days. The players we had then oozed confidence in front of goal and even though Alioski, Berardi and Klich would drive you to despair with their wayward shots from outside the box, they were fearless. But who wouldn't be under Bielsa? Different times now but yes, let's hope Farke encourages the players to take a leaf out of Piroe's book and shoot on sight more often.
Piroe's goal was a really tight angle, very good finish from there. As others said, other players would have pulled it back and looked to cross it.
Farke has a 100 mil super squad and will get us up.
Funny but this time last year people wanted Farke out, and he did a great job, didn't get us up but it had to be our luck that the points tally we had would have most seasons got us up!..
He's having the same start now that he had last season, best players going just before the seasons start and new coming in that he has to plan with!..
I hope he doesn't go because I think he can with a little time make it work!..

Good point that has been ignored when judging Farke.
Losing Sinisterra on deadline day who was about to be key player, losing Rutter 1 game into the season who was a key player. There’s been a lot of chopping and changing in the squad but Farke has kept them mostly ticking on and winning games. Our front 4 yesterday was pretty much a new look one to last season.
Very good thread and comments. Saturday was dire, in case anyone has forgotten. You can say '...on another day...' or 'any other season, we go up with 90 points', but we didn't go up, and on Saturday, we saw the most expensive squad in the division look like a bunch of wallflower. We lacked courage and self-belief. Yes, we have 11 points, but who did we get them against?
We have lost our stars and it shows. No-one is stepping up to lead the way. Allied to this are Farke's familiar failings. If he stays, our key players will be burned out again by February. Maybe the league is weaker this year, but so are we. If he stays, brace yourselves for another forty- match train wreck. Farke out.
heart, you say very good thread and comments and then write that!..
Er, ok!..
Like I said but others have also said it, this time last year he was getting the same crap, but hey, it took him a little time to get his new players playing his way, no reasons to say he cant do the same again!..
Time will tell but 6 games in and 5pts behind first writing him of at this time again ain't going to help any!..
good thread and agree with a lot of things said here.
the first ten games of any season, and any club can breed strange results and performances so I'm not going to judge anything just yet.
Vs Cardiff who are a poor side granted, but one of our bogey teams that always raise there game vs Leeds or so it seems anyway.
sometimes the result is all that matters, 3 points away at Cardiff is good result for us... lets move on to the next game
We basically had to start all over again just like last season.
I think Farke is doing a good job with a few hiccups along the way.
Wouldn't want to get rid of him until his replacement has a summer to prepare, so imo this year is his.
What we have never really replaced is a number ten and right now in this league that's all I think we need and to get Aaronson onto the bench

True. Watching Leeds at 4.00 a.m. is never a good time to judge our progress, but I watched the second half again and it was even worse than I remembered. it. We looked toothless and were it not for a tidy save from Meslier, it could have been 1-1, just before Piroe made it safe for us.
So, my view is that we bite the bullet now, rather than deal with it in March, when it will be too late.
