FWIW the top speed is listed as 98mph. That'd be literally terrifying
Two games a week, including travel to far off places,is perhaps a little too much on a long term basis.
Aussieglue has commented on this yesterday or today.
It requires a large squad and lots of rotation.
One manager is on record today as saying "he is sending the reserves to some match"

We won’t have to worry about playing too many games now we’ve just pulled City in the League Cup. Seriously, are we ever gonna get a favourable draw. We must be the unluckiest club in world football. Shiiiiit draw.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now now Fridge.... our first team can beat City.
Alot of club games per season is a sign of success, qualifying for Europe, going deep in domestic cups....etc.
It's the International games that need a whole rethink. After a month long Euros competition the players are back in training for a few days then play 3 games of the new season before they fack off again to get injured on the other side of the world.
After a WC or Euros summer there should be no International football for at least 6 months.
They are paid a kings ransom, they should get on with it and consider themselves lucky

Would actually be quite funny watching a match with players "getting on with it" playing with serious injuries. Like the Paralympics.
One feels that the issue might not be that they are being lazy and ungrateful for the money that they are paid, but more that their body reaches a limit playing too many matches in quick succession and that creates a much higher risk of injury. Players cannot play with muscle/ligament injuries. Or are you saying that they should?
If you need any more analogies to help explain the concern, and why your Brexit view on it is flawed, then please get in touch.

Did you not read the scientific study further up? That there is actually less injuries nowadays than before, and actually less games

EPL myopia
OP
I'm with the players on this. There's a bun fight for eyes on screens between FIFA, UEFA, domestic FA's and domestic leagues. We've seen the expansion of the World Cup, CWC (FIFA), the CL and Euro's (UEFA), the introduction of the nations league, plus (in England) two domestic cup comps.
Don't forget players weren't consulted on expanding these comps or whether they're able to play more games in a season. Saying they get paid x amount per week is a very simplistic way of looking at it.
It's not just the players. As a fan who attends matches the fixtures come thick and fast these days, and usually at stupid times. And that's just club fixtures never mind the stupid ersed international ones. Games come just about every 3 or 4 days now. It's too much.
Conclusion from the study:
"that injury prevention has become increasingly efficient and should encourage medical staff in professional football clubs to continue to implement and monitor preventive programmes in accordance with emerging evidence"
The methods for preventing injury and re-injury have massively improved. This includes player management and welfare.
I am not sure where it says that players playing at the elite level have fewer matches in their calendar though.
I find the 'players should just get on with it' approach a bit short-sighted.
No elite athlete can perform at peak level indefinitely. It's as true for football as it is for any sport.
Surely it's also in the best interest of fans to get to enjoy a better-quality product, rather than just more of it. It's hardly as if there wasn't enough football on offer already.

It's like cramming Happy Meals with copious quantities of rat and rat faeces in order to produce more, instead of settling for sticking to healthy amounts of horse meat and making fewer overall meals.
Here chicken nuggets would be the EFL Cup.

Is the horse meat Man City? And everyone thought they were beef for so many years?
Kyle Walker is a bit of a stallion TBF
Had horse polenta & donkey pasta on my recent trip to N. Italy. Not the worst but won't kill you. I passed on the rat faeces dessert.
I bet if you took a thousand people off the average street and said you could magically swap lives with a professional footballer, that 99% would swap. It’s a great life. The players should remember how privileged they actually are. Monetary rewards, the best girls, the adulation, and set for life financially once they retire.
Makes me sick they bleat on about unfairness, I know people who are on minimum wage cleaning up peoples shiiit , now that’s unfair
There can be unfair things for people working on minimum wage and Premier League footballers. The two are not mutually exclusive

Spurs play Manchester United just three days after tonight's game, and Postecoglou said: "I've spoken before that I think we're getting to a dangerous level of what our expectations are around players. They don't get a break between seasons anymore.

Not getting a break between seasons is a different issue to the club not playing in Europe.. during the season
We had a break from playing in Europe last night
