As I said...to go searching for a new manager publicly and then to stick with the one you have is terrible leadership and strategy. I'm not a fan of ETH at all (no way you say) but even I feel for him with the impossible position he's been put in now. He knows the club don't really want him and the players know it too. He's a lame duck and has been ever since those leaks.
And it's too early to write off some of these new signings but from what I have seen so far I'm far from impressed with most of them. Mazraoui looks half decent but the others look well short so far. Again it's early days but the signs are already there.
INEOS are on a sticky wicket already. They are getting heaps of praise and I'm not quite sure why. Their decision to not sack him has set us back another year or two now.
For owners of such big companies the emphasis is on exposure. If we were doing reasonably well, say trotting along in 4th then we wouldn't be hitting the headlines and no one would know who INEOS was.
Because we are playing badly, we are constantly in the news and everyone is talking about INEOS.
There is no such thing as bad publicity and this is a far easier and cheaper way of achieving it rather than trying to be successful to get publicity.
I don’t know what you guys were expecting after such a short space of time? For signings it’s way too early, same with ineos
They have done some good things, in terms of sorting out the background staff etc. But the way they went about things with ETH, whether they kept him or not, was all wrong. Perhaps they can learn from that and be more decisive. I don't read too much into recent press releases - I don't know anyone when releasing a manager announcing it in advance - it just gets announced. I just hope there are things happening in the background to prepare for the inevitable decision, and that there is a plan in place in terms of the next move.
Too soon for me to make any real judgment, but I would say it would probably be worse if they weren't in place.

I agree it's too early on the new players....
Are we not allowed to comment on how they handled the ETH fiasco over the summer then?

There's a difference between commenting on one decision and proclaiming you're 'done with' the whole project, with all of its fundamenral restructuring of the organisation, operations, stadium exploration, etc. based on thinking that one decision (made before the team was fully in place and with no preferred elite candidates available) was bad.
Very out of character for comic book guy to be negative, what's wrong?

Exactly RR.
But yes SE85 - it’s fine to comment on that scenario but overall I think it’s fair to say that in such a short space of time INEOS have been great. Look at our transfers in and out, stadium, training ground etc etc. one error out of many big decisions is fine by me.
Maybe the Manager they wanted to get wasn't available so decided to stick with Ten for another season. Thats the only way it makes sense to keep him.

I think this is exactly what happened. If results don’t come in, I’m sure he’ll be sacked and Ruud will take over as interim. Then if someone undeniable is available, they’ll get him.

I'm definitely not done with the project. I have consistently said today they are already on a sticky wicket though. Football seasons are 9 months long and are too precious to just throw away. That's practically what they did by going back on their decision. They left him in an impossible position instead of doing what was needed. It's poor leadership.
They can obviously make amends for it though over next week or two. It's time to wake up and deal with the reality we face. He isn't good enough and he's doing more harm than good now. Even our more talented players in the squad look lost.
‘These ineos characters think this is facking cycling’
Let’s hope so. From what I’ve heard they facked that up too.
He will probably win you the Europa League.
Then it will be 3 trophies in 3 seasons.
But you will continue toget these bad PL.results and finish about 7th

Yes but you wouldn’t then change the back room staff to ETH, paying all that money to get rid then all the money to get new in. Only for a new manager to want his back room staff putting in place. You also wouldn’t go out and splash £200m on his signings.
They have backed ETH fully, which is what you would want from your owners, just looks a total mistake!
